Does anyone else feel like WoW has been going downhill ever since the wotlk came out? They added seasons to raiding with the removal of 310% achievement mounts every major content patch, gear is starting to get even more ridiculously easy to get in the next patch, and the new raid instance in the next patch is completely mounted combat which kinda feels like they are starting to completely screw up raiding next. How do you guys feel about it?

I stopped playing about 2 months after the release of wotlk and it was already going downhill. Not starting DK's at level one created a huge gap IMO and that was just the first pebble in the virtual stoning of WoW.

what server are you on?

I think BC had its ups and downs. But raiding in bc seemed to go through a big evolution in the positive direction, until they started dumbing everything down. Then they finally did something good with the release of sunwell.

Yeah i was addicted enough to not want to quit too. I kept saying to myself "no big deal" to all the changes and dealt with it. Then they started crapping all over the game in wotlk and I just couldnt stand it anymore.

the start of WOTLK was as downhill as it's going to get, imo. 3 drake sarth as the hardest boss fight was a joke. and i'm not even going to mention arenas. since then, they've tuned it up big time. ulduar hard modes give raids more depth, and make fights more interesting. although i will agree that the 310% mount achievements are retarded, nobody ever really sees your flying mount these days anyway, so it's not a big deal.
i haven't heard anything about mounted combat in raids, but i feel that that could go either way. it would add, yet again, more depth to raiding, but i could see blizzard failing hard with the concept.

tl;dr: it's getting better, but is nowhere near the epicness of pre-nerf sunwell

Yea I think it started going down pre WOTLK. It just seems to have gotten too repetative and I think that sunwell area killed the game. That and population is starting to go down. Finally, a new good mmo may come out here in the next half year or so.

They couldn't have started at level 1. That's like having an adult in a grade 1 class, it just wouldn't have worked. DKs were described as powerful warriors of the scourge, not some 100hp'd noob with mail armor >_>

WoW is a boring game... more nerds play that game than anywhere else, plus it's pointless.
I especially hate it when people use WoW technical jargon, it's like they're so "smart"...
Good thing it's heading downwards.

Agreed. Even though there's been pretty much a bloat of features the game and community is going downhill. I think after Cataclysm people will start realising that.

I think cata is going to pull them back in. They're trying to change a lot. The skill trees will be much less passive you'll get actual abilities from them. The maps are changing too, so everyone is going to want to reroll to get a feel of the new game and its going to remind bored users that they first got into WoW for the levelling.

Please do not gravedig
