I believe in ghosts... and I don't believe that everyone that has seen a ghost is crazy. people who haven't seen ghosts just aren't ready to accept it, so they say the person in crazy [though sometimes they really really are]

I guess people have reasons to deny ghosts, they don't want to be seen as crazy, they don't want to view themselves as crazy.

We tend to stun these supernatural events as mental or silly. But it shouldn't be like that. Just because science has not proved it doesn't mean it isn't true. We didn't know about P and S waves and the earth's core until recently. Or that the sun was the center of the solar system for example.

I don't think people who believe in the supernatural are crazy. It's human nature to associate what we don't understand with otherworldly forces. People used to believe that earthquakes were the workings of an angry god, but now science has progressed to the point where we DO understand P and S waves. It makes more sense to me that society will eventually evolve to the point where we no longer have superstitious beliefs about our dead, not that science will prove ghosts exist.

Science can speed everything up tho. We change our social beliefs based on science also. It is faster to have an experiment prove something then waiting for superstition to die out.

You could also "logically" say that there isn't a god, so that statement doesn't really accomplish anything, especially when you don't provide any reason for why it's apparently true.

i strongly believe in ghosts + same with the afterlife.

one day i was actually watching the maury show.. (there was nothing else on)
and it was about ghosts or something and there was these tapes that sounded like their family for the audience to hear, and it was the creepiest thing i ever saw. they were speaking but there was a lot of static.

I don't believe in ghosts. In my point of view, people who said they saw ghosts/wandering souls were probably under the influence of supersticions, and were most probably nervous/expectant at the moment they saw it happened.

Notice that most of ghost apperances occur in dark, closed or old places. These are factors that make some people enter in a situation of anxiety/nervousness, and since the human mind can be easily influenced by self-belief (e.g. placebo), it probably made them feel the presence of something unknown, which they could relate to a ghost.

If you're talking about the religous god than no there isn't. That selfish God, who made Abraan kill his own son to prove loyalty, that God who is supposedly omnipotent and good, but doesn't prevent disasters from happening, that God who the church claims to be omniscient, meaning that he knows everything and doesn't make mistakes, but in the Bible (in the Genesis), it says that he created the humans, but then regretted doing it? How can someone regret doing something if they already know the consequence of everything?

Logic accepts the probability of a God, but not the religious one. The science refers to God as an ultimate force, the ultimate equation, the last and undivisible piece of matter that reveals the secret to all.

Are you thinking about Descartes' theory?
"I think therefore I am", of which he draws the conclusion that the thought of God can only mean that God exists?

Not gonna disagree with your post, just a little correction: with Abraan, is that a typo for Abraham? Or another name for him? Because if so, the Bible said that God was testing Abraham's loyalty to see if he was going to kill his son, but then told him to stop once he saw Abraham was going to go through with it. So he didn't kill his own son.

Yea, didn't know how to write it in English x|
You're right, but what I meant is that, a mercyful God wouldn't even ask him to do that. Plus, there's a paradox in what you said, if God is omniscient, he was already sure Abraham was loyal.

Abraan is Abraham I think, I heard of him called that before in Church and I think in the bible too.

Okay, gone off topic, but i'll explain myself. I never said God was omniscient. I said that he asked Abraham to prove his loyalty, and once he saw that Abraham was going to prove his loyalty, he stopped him. I wasn't saying that God knew that Abraham was going to do it, and asked him anyway. But I understand the paradox about God being omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent vs. free will, which I can't answer. And of course, the more stupid paradox: Can God make a potato so hot that even he can't carry?

I'll try to be more on topic - Maybe the more willing you are to believe in ghosts, the more you are able to see them? A bit like the Magic Eye books, if you know what you're looking for, you can see it. Not a great example, you wouldn't want to walk around going cross eyed all the time, hoping to see a ghost. I guess you would be more likely to trick yourself into seeing a ghost. I saw a show where they placed cameras in people's houses that were haunted. Some pretty freaky stuff happened there. If it was faked, they did a pretty good job.
I suppose if ghosts did exist, that would mean that there was an afterlife. My mother is rather superstitious. She saw a few ghosts haunting places where she lived. But perhaps it was because she was younger, her imagination was more active. When my uncle died, my mother said that she saw an image of him at night, just before she went to bed. She blinked, and it was gone. The next day, she found out that he had died. So I can't exactly explain that, but it's a pretty neat ghost story.
When we went overseas to see a temple in Malaysia, my brother apparently disrespected someone by not taking off his cap. When we got back home, he got really sick, and had to go to hospital. The doctors had no idea what was wrong. Eventually my mum talked to a friend in Malaysia, who offered a peace offering, and a few days later my brother was fine. Some could say it was spirits, others could say it was an undetected meningococci bacteria. Who knows?

My great grandmother came to me after she died. I just stared at her for a few seconds, then she dissappeared. she didn't look real though, because she was only a blue outline.
