    Hey.
So I don't actually own this game, but I was thinking about buying it. I have a few questions though.
    1. How much is it per month/year?
    2. I have a mac, and while there is a Mac version available, is it the same as the PC version or not as good?
    3. How much VRAM do I need to play it?
    4. Is it worth it overall?
    5. Is it time consuming?

Im not able to answer most of your questions, but I can tell you that its 14.99 per month. My hubby plays it, and he loves the crap out of it. I know the system requirements arent all that big, our desktop is a pos and it plays wow just fine. It has pretty sweet graphics, sometimes when Bren is playing I have to stop for a second to check out what hes doing and be like "woah thats really cool"... And yes, it get very time consuming especially as you get into higher levels. There are some instances in the game that can take a few hours to complete, depending on your group. Once you're in an instance you cant leave without having to restart it. All in all, its a really neat game, and I dont mind paying the $ for it as long as Bren is happy. ;D

VERY time consuming, i played for 3 months straight (well not quite but i had 3 month subscription) and only got 2 characters to around lvl 45. it got boring after around level 30, its pretty much just quest quest instance quest grind ect... until you get to max level its not very fun unless your a pve kinda person, i lean more towards pvp.

imho not worth paying 15$ a month when there are similar games for free, but MOST servers have a great community. and mass ppl playing

    1. 14.99/mo, but there are different plans as well
    2. Windows and Mac users use the same disc to install. It's exactly the same no matter what your OS.
    3. Read this.
    4. If you like it, sure.
    5. Only if you make it time consuming.

Consider getting a friend to create an account with you, so you can get triple XP. So much easier. I leveled like, 5 toons to 60 in a few weeks this way. :)

No, I do not think it's worth it.

    1. You have to pay monthly, I'm a student so I rather spend the money I get on other things like clothes.
    2. I heard it's very addicting, causing some people in college to drop out too, I don't want that to happen to me.
    3. I don't think it's worth it overall.

If you think you can play moderately and would like to spend your money on games, then by all means go for it. Since it's such an addicting game, I'm sure it's fun. I don't trust myself with playing moderately so I just won't start.

    1. How much is it per month/year?
15 dollars a month but if you really think about it its only 50 cents a day.

    2. I have a mac, and while there is a Mac version available, is it the same as the PC version or not as good?
    Haven't tried mac version.

    3. How much VRAM do I need to play it?
256 should be fine its not too graphics intensive.

    4. Is it worth it overall?
It can be if you manage your time well with it.

    5. Is it time consuming?
This entirely depends on if you wanna focus on PvE or PvP. PvP is not as time consuming, but PvE tends to be. Although nowadays PvE has gotten significantly less time consuming since its so much easier now.

I played WoW for a couple years, and I even ran a successful raiding guild during my time playing it. The reason I quit was because of the lack of 'hardcore' raiding content and the overall casualness that WoW contends to. If you are a gamer that likes raiding and playing a lot...I definitely wouldn't recommend the game...you WILL run out of things to do.

If you however are a casual person and play games casually then WoW would be a good game for you. That's one reason why it's such a popular game...because it plays to the casual crowd. You can log in and play for only a couple hours a day and still be as good as someone that wastes away their time on it.

i just want to say one thing about #5.

    yes.

any way you play the game, like any MMO, it is extremely time consuming. it takes most first-time players a month or more to reach level 60 if they play a decent amount. and with two expansions out now expanding the cap to 80, expect to be leveing for quite some time.

one good thing i will say about wow, is they actually try to do as much for their casuals as they do for their hardcore players. while the hardcore players will always have more gear and money and etc, they may be untouchable in bgs...the points systems have all been designed so that regardless if you are a hardcore player or not, it will take just as long to earn the same things for each player...

ie- say it takes 50,000 honor points to buy a helm you want,

hardcore player might play 8 hours a day, at maybe 5k honor per hour
they will have that item by tomorrow.

casual player might play for 2 hours a day, 5k honor an hour...
you will both end up doing 10 total hours of play to earn the item you want,.

in other words, it makes it possible for all players to earn the same items in most cases even if they dont play as much.

Its worth it if you have the time to waste, but be warned. I have heard of cases where people have literally lost their livelyhood, family, sanity etc because of Wow. It is said to be more addictive than smoking (apparently anyway).

So if you have abundant time to waste then go for it, its only really fun at the higher level spectrum, at low levels.. well you suck =]

I loved it for the few years I played. My fiance canceled my subscription because we weren't doing well financially at the time, and I was working 2 jobs. It's INCREDIBLY time consuming. If you get into it, you get into it HARD. I've heard good things about the Mac version, but I've never personally played it.

I'm getting my subscription back soon since I'm a stay-at-home mom with a baby that spends 16-18 hours a day sleeping. So, if you decide to play, let me know! It is more fun when you know people who play.

If you want to waste your time playing an MMO, play LotRO :p
Much more awesome in my opinion.

    "Is it time consuming?"
You don't play a RPG if you're not looking to waste massive amounts of time. If you just want to 'try' it, I recommend waiting until summer :)

You are always trying to sell something lol...
    ---
    So what I've gathered:
    -Its mad time consuming
    -Its costs 14.99/month
    -It ruins peoples lives (LOL?)
-I should get off Neofriends and go to youtube... I feel so hated ^^
    ---
    My verdict so far:
NOT BUYING IT due to it ruining peoples lives...
    ---
    Edit:
It feels like we are talking about drugs right now lol (time consuming, expencive, ruining peoples lives) lol....

    5. Is it time consuming?

There was a Tv show i was watching earlier about 20-30 year olds losing their Wife, kids, job, and house(basically everything they had) over this game. The guy lost so much weight because he felt like he wasnt eating, he was playing. He got so into the game, when he does eat, he would eat the food with his "character".

This is not true, your character eats, it is to restore health and takes no more than 30 seconds. I don't you would eat food with him. Some people get addicted. It is a fun game, you just have to regulate your time. The 11.ooo.ooo people that play are not all addicted.
