I've got a mini psychology assignment of sorts for Health.
And we're studying the brain and I got dreams as my topic.
I've been looking around but most explanations have been confusing to me.
So can someone tell me what they are in a simpler explanation?

Ah I remember last semester I had philosophy and we stupid dreams and how it is linked to consciousnesses. You could say how dreams are an extension of our counsious mind, since sometimes dreams state things we are not even thinking. Like when we dream of someone we have feelings for or a loved one that past away and don't really want to consciously think about. Dreams happen when we have minimal brain activity and occur during the REM state of sleep. Our brains become active as if we were awake, which is our neurons firing off in the brain. We are always thinking, consciously and uncounsiously, since we aren't conscious our unconscious mind is what causes the dreams to happen. Dreams could have very little meaning to them, we could feel as if we woke up and went to work (happened to me not to long ago) or could have a powerful impact on us.

Uh that's just me rambling on there, but do you think you got an idea off of that?

    I know.
    Me too! :)
It's so interesting figuring out how and why we do the things we do.

YES! I loved my philosophy class, it was just so great. And sociology mushed in a lot of philosophy and such so I was in love with that class too.
