So, we're all trying to figure out how it works backstage at the Neopets HQ but alas, none of us know!

I came up with a theory..

What if each neopoint has a directory type setting and if it does, maybe we can somehow delete it or push it off the end?

If you don't know what a computer directory is, it's this (to put it simply):

Start > all programs > accessories > calculator

It's basically telling you each step to take to get to the end.

Now, what if it works the same as the neopoints?

    user1 > user2 > depositbank

What if there's a fixed history on each neopoint and let's say, it can hold up to five places.. so to delete the interaction between user1 and user2, we do this:

    use1 > user2 > depositbank > withdrawelbank > depositebank > withdrawelbank

In the end, what TNT see's is the last five interactions thusly, not knowing where the points came from and more importantly WHO they came from..

    Any input?

I don't think it's working that way.... anyway, the logs never lies...
IP xxxx for account xxxxx give xxxx np to user xxxxxx
They know how many trade you did, who you sent the money too and how much...
I'm pretty sure this is how this work.

I think TNT keeps a long log of all TP trades, items and nps, but even so how do you know the minimum history on the np's is 5 or more. It could be endless for all u know. They may keep everything.

I think the sales history log is deletable cuz if they make a copy of our sales history, it means 2x space required to keep all the history (one copy is for our own viewing). So, that's why even if you don't manually clear yr sales history, TNT does it for you. You can see how they need the space, so i don't think they will make another copy. So, transactions over shops should be safe.

I didn't say it was definitely five. I was just using it as an example. Would you prefer I said 100 and made a big blabbering example of it?

That's kind of contradictive. Why would they keep an endless log (like you just stated) for every trade/neopoint/items/shops/auctions? There are TRILLIONS of neopoints in the sytem (and thousands of shops/trade transactions/auctions) and one shop for every user (or if you want to get technical, 1 shop for every five users, assuming that everyone has their max amount of 5 accounts each, etc., etc.,).. How many users are there? Double that and that's the space to keep all the history of the shops. That's if NO ONE deleted the history of it and I do it on a regular basis so I'm pretty sure others do it, as well.

I think TRILLIONS times Forever is about infinity bigger than the shop history so I'm pretty sure there IS an end and a beginning to every neopoint history. They wouldn't worry about something so little like the shop history when clearly, an endless neopoint history would take up tons and tons of more room.

I should have clarified before but I assumed the example I used would be seen through as a transfer through a shop, but now you know.

Don't double post. You should probably know how to edit your posts by now.

I thought it'd be more difficult then that.

And I thought they knew who you gace nps to and what you traded etc?

They know that indeed. They can see practically everything.

Exactly why i said that they wouldnt keep it and so through that matter so its safer. Btw, since you say TNT wouldn't do that and since you made yr example based on the transaction by shops, what's the point of coming up with the theory.

This just occured to me... Maybe that is the reason the bank stops you from withdrawing after a while. Im not sure how many times you can withdraw but i will check it out...

Well, I'm just speaking by experience... it's my job to keep servers running for big company and I can assure you, if someone was connected 2 years ago, I can still give you is Ip adress. It's the same thing for the web: I can see where all the users went.... So to me, it's pointless to have a np history/log since you can find it in the main log anyway...

They did said that but I've withdrawn like around 15-20 times a day. Maybe you have to do it in a row.
