Just wondering. Goin to see them tonight in Anaheim. Kind of a weird show, Saosin and Norma Jean are really different types of music. Saosin is more popcore (poppy hardcore) and Norma Jean is one of the original metalcore bands. I'm not a huge fan of Saosin, some of their songs are ok, but I've been listenin to Norma Jean for years so I'm always excited to see them (this will be the... 3rd or 4th time I've seen em) They're playing with alexisonfire and The Dear and Departed. DOn't like either of them too much.
Not my cup of tea i like underground hip hop and happy hardcore (like techno)... though I have a friend who's completely enamored with Norma Jean. Have fun tonight!
Eh, the show was sorta lame. The Dear and Departed played first, overall they were boring and pretty bad, general punk popish. The crowd went nuts for alexisonfire, don't see why though. The lead singers screams weren't that great, and the backup singers vocals were decent at best. Overall unoriginal and boring. Norma Jean was great as usual. Excellent lights, excellent energy, overall they put on a great show. Saosin I was really disappointed with, last time I saw them they were pretty good, Cove (lead singer) sounded great and the band had good energy. This time around, Cove couldn't hold a note to save his life. They did something funky with their guitars so it all sounded like one blob of music coming out of the speakers, and you couldnt differentiate the instruments at all. Me and my buddies left during their set because they were so bad. Whatever, I'm STOKED for next weeks show. Silverstein, From Autumn to Ashes, Strike Anywhere, and A Day to Remember. Goin to be insane.
I like Saosin a little bit but I watched them perform live via youtube and the such and the lead singer really sucks. I even read reviews from concert goers and they said the same thing. Technology today is amazing. I wonder how good they can make me sound with my lack of singing skills. :lol:
All the bands apart from Norma Jean you mentioned suck ass. Hey lolcool22, i remember a while back you were saying you like parkway drive, have you managed to check out there new album? its pretty damn good if you ask me, real heavy sound like I Killed The Prom Queen, another great aussie band.
