Whats so better with apple computers over reguler hp and dell computers? I know they don't get virus and they stay faster but other then that is there a bigger difference for that much money?
LOL durability? brand name? well as long as your not playing pass with your laptop i think your fine and yah brand name is what im thinking drives it up
They are also easy computers to deal with and learn from, if you are not good with them. Which is also why Apple computers have been on the top for college students. Since they are like MCheezie said, reliable, good product, easy to use and safe. What more do you need in a computer? ~Parisdirt
I don't understand the big hype surrounding Apple. First, let's get something straight: those mac with osx are not real mac. -A real mac should be running a powerPC processor. -A real mac should lock the system at least 2 times a day -A real mac should close app randombly because of it's lack of virtual memory -A real mac should prevent you from finding the f*cking cd player to stop the music playing -A real mac should... well, you get the point. Everything below OSX was a complete crap, and I had less headache dissasembling a nuclear reactor than running this system. Now, as for OSX and later, well, it's a good OS, but since it's not reserved for MAC anymore, it's just a bit dissapointing. IMO, I prefer running OSX on my Windows system with far better hardware than I can wish for from a MAC.
Eh, it is getting a lot more common for MACs to pick up things now that they're so much more common, speaking in terms of viruses.
Hmm stat wise I really don't have a clue I'm not a computer junkie. I used to have a windows PC and now I have a macbook. It never crashes, It's still super fast, It has a built in webcam, It's purdy!, It's never caught a virus. I have basically just fallen in love x].
From Wiki Answers since I was wondering as well. They do. All computers can get viruses. The reason you don't hear much about Mac or Linux viruses is that Windows XP is remarkably easy to hack into. It takes less than 5 minutes for an unpatched WinXP system to become completely compromised when connected to the Internet. With the XP machines being such an easy target, and with them having such a large market share, the XP viruses get most of the attention. Linux machines can get viruses, and some theories say that the Storm network is comprised of linux servers controlling teams of XP machines. It's tougher because the users tend to run with limited access, unlike Windows users. The reason you don't hear much about Macs getting viruses is because generally speaking, they don't. ~Parisdirt
I think viruses need to be written for macs to be able to infect them but people who create viruses mainly create them for windows.
but is it cause macs are soo much more expensive or is because people enjoy windows more? Since 2003 I think it was apple stocks went from 10$ to 50$
I think those statistics are like that sheerly because of the price of apple computers. If basic macs cost the same as a basic windows running pc the stock prices would be significantly reversed.
windows is doing a good job? i havent seen a window commercial yet i've only seen the nerdy mac ones and they actually make windows look bad and btw you joined today and you already have a ton of posts, you almost posted in every topic so im pretty sure your spamming, you should limit your posts to meaning full posts not just one setences
Macs are just better. Since I got my Mac 18 months ago, I seriously have not had a problem with it. It doesn't get viruses and it doesn't just screw up for random reasons like with Windows. The only downside is that I can't play all games and some Windows-only programs are inaccessible to me. They beat Windows excuse of an operating system any day of the week.
Apple has no virus, or there's only like one or two but super rare to get. I'd say your chance in a life time of getting a virus on an apple computer is like NONE. But aside from that the interface in general is great and easy to navigate. You don't really use the desktop at all. All the icons are fixed in some bar at the bottom. you might have to get used to no right click. There's a different way of right clicking on Macbooks. Windows, just has a lot of unnecessary things installed when you buy it which slows down the process of your computer wayyy down. I'm a window user all my life and I am switching to a Macbook next year for Uni. But in general, you can say that the major reason Apple has an advantage over Windows is that they don't have stupid crap you'll probably never use on there. Windows = Junk yard Not to mention microsoft is actually developing an Apple line of product as well so if you're using Windows for Microsoft Word and stuff, have no fear because they now have Mac compatible versions :yup: <3 Oye..<3 Mac! Just a little more than I <3 Windows...
Yah thats the better thing I am noticing about mac that is persuading me on my next purchase to get one, window media player, Microsoft word, msn messenger there all starting to become compatible for mac aswell which is sweet
There is suitable (if not better replacements for Mac anyway) for those three you could use iTunes, NeoOffice and Adium, respectively.
