Actually they say they do, but I mean I doubt they cover mine.. I actually have two pairs of broken headphones..excluding 4 that I just totally chucked {And one my dad sucked in the vaccum} But anyways..it ALWAYS happens..one ear would have noo sound what so ever. It's not like i just throw it in a bag../ When I don't use it, I wrap the wire around my ipod and put it on the inside pocket of my jacket. Anyways this new one, at first, the left ear got sorta fuzzy, and only when there's bass in the song. Then the right ear suddenly went fuzzy too, and it was WORST than the left. But then today, must have been REALLY cold..but both the buds of the headphone popped OUT of the whole thing..like the great part came off for BOTH ears, and I can see the wires and stuff on the inside... and I dunno why it happened..they were in good condition as far as i'm concerned, no cracks what so ever. Apple does cover headphones, but I dunno under what conditions..so does any body know? >_> I'm guessing they need some really lame shxtty reason that they will find legitimate..
Give them a call or email and see what they say. If the headphones were in good condition when all this happened, I can't see how they wouldn't replace them, especially if they are still pretty new...
well if they're under warranty they send you the replacement and you send yours back in a separate envelope I had the same problem when i first got my ipod, 3 months after i got it the headphones die so i chucked them into a corner of my room and bought some new ones. Then like a week before my warranty was up i sent in the broken ones and they sent me new ones, then i sent the old ones back. Then the new ones broke a couple months later... bottom line, apple headphones have great sound quality but suck bad in terms of fragility unless you like never put them in your pocket
I had the same problem with my iPod headphones. If you still have a warranty, you can just get a replacement, but if I were you, just buying another pair would probably be the best deal because you would have to wait for the replacement to come in (you have to send yours there). Oh, and don't forget the postage although that's a few ¢, lol. Bottom Line: iPod headphones suck.
Maybe 2 years back, i had the same problem. My ipod was still under Applecare, so they sent me a brand new set, no questions asked. they didn't even ask me to send mine back. Just call them and lie. Say one headphone completely doesnt work or something. If they make you send it back, and there IS physical damage to the headphones, they'll just say "oh well, must be shipping's fault". It costs them maybe $2 to send you a new pair. They're manufactured for about 6 cents.
Lol, manufactured for 6¢? That has to be just labor. They have to get the materials, make it, test it, and ship it. I don't think that's 6¢.
Oh trust me, they make them cheap. About 180 million ipods have been sold globally now. Apple knows how to make them cheap. The materials are junk, and they're made in big factories, probably 250 thousand a day. Now figure how many workers they have in that factory. Probably not very many. And it's probably in a third world country where they don't have to pay people much. As for the materials, it's plastic, wire, mesh, and a magnet. That's really all. All dirt cheap, especially when produced on a huge scale.
Not really, they have a lot of people in the factories, it's just made in China because labor in China is extremely cheap. That's why most everything is made in China although those there aren't the best quality. As I mentioned above ^, iPod headphones suck.
Do you listen to your music uber loud? They may have just busted. I actually <3 sucky iPod headphones. They will die from normal wear and tear within about six months, but they are worth it.
I know, right? They don't have too much bass, but they aren't too trebelly. They are definitely my favorite.
And too, I don't think you need bass... in your ear. o-o Jeez, I'm shallow, but I also use iPod headphones for the image. lawl. ipod hedfonez r hot.
Apple won't cover headphones because they are so cheap and get lost/broken frequently that they wouldn't want to loose money. Quite simply- if you have broken headphones go buy new cheap ones or by nicer ones. Suggestion: http://www.amazon.com/JBuds-Hi-Fi-Noise ... 767&sr=8-2 They work great 451 PS: I know this from personal experience. I broke a pair of headphones.
Eh, I say just buy another kind of earphone. In the past I've had a lot of apple ear phones and they usually just stop working in about 6 months. Right now, I'm using the Apple iPhone Earphones because it says that little button to pause music on my iPhone. The left earphone fits perfectly for me and the right is loose -.- I swear if it weren't for that button to pause the music and the little mic, I would be using some other earphones.
Well, the new iPod touch and both the iPhones have speakers built it... But the link I gave you is a very nice pair of headphones. You might as well check it out
Yeah I'm kind of getting irritated of the loose right ear phone. Does the one you linked have good bass? I listen mostly to techno/trance so yeah..
LOL Well if it wasn't apple that sent me replacement iPod headphones when mine broke then who did? Multiple people have already stated that they've gotten replacements from apple.
as long as you're under warranty (iPods usually come with 1 year I believe) you can get them replaced just go to the apple website, they have a little form you fill out and then they mail you replacements all you have to do is return the broken/damaged earphones to them and it's free. definately worth it if you're still under warranty, it'll save you the money of buying new earphones ...did I mention that I like free stuff
So what if you bought new pair of earphones from the apple store or any other retail store WITHOUT the iPod?! Does that come with warranty?
