I have an interest in autobuyers. I have been shop restocking by hand only to lose out by just a second and its obvious people are using autobuyers. I've gotten good deals in the book shop but I know the magic shop is where the real bucks are. I noticed a lot of people get iced for autobuying. How do some get away with it and others dont? Is it just that some people get greedy and try to run it all day and night? Or is neopets just really good at detecting these things even when proxies are used and time has passed before transfering to the main account? Is there any secret to transferring big items without looking suspicious etc?

    Look here
    neopets-cheats-f80/semi-legit-restocking-t27548.html

I'd say give semi-legit a try first and the first guide will give you hints on that, a relatively low risk to wean yourself onto true blue ABing

    neopets-information-f82/

The link above leads you to a bunch of useful stuff on AB and transferring.

No easy way to answer you, AB has its risks but people who continue to do so (eg. ME :p) believe that the benefits outweigh the costs. Note that even the best get iced sometimes for reasons unknown, the basic protection is to use a 4 month shell and proxies. There is practically no limit to how careful you are if you spend a year developing a good "relationship" between your shell and your main and they are on different ips and are online at the same time and different times then no, you probably won't get caught transferring. If you don't do anything ridiculously obvious you are generally fine, but Magic is a high risk store, as is meridell foods I believe. PM me if you have any queries

Well, we can share some tips, but the main way to learn how to not get frozen is to experience cheating. The more you cheat, the more you get better. Practice makes perfect. Yeah, transferring, just transfer through the shop methods. Try to have tight refresh intervals (2-4/2-5). Also, AU has a nice range of features like a Spiderer, Daily Doer. I'd suggest you run those...don't run night and day, when using shop method, clear history. It's the little things that can help.

Well, I have some experience with trying to avoid the freeze, but its more of the scamming variety. Dont worry I have no interest in scamming, and have given a ton to the money tree and other random people over the years just to help me sleep. I managed to escape with one main account from about 5 years back. I've since become 100% legit and I dont really want to lose my almost 8 year account. I am considering logging off this account for a while and getting/starting a new main and using a new router to get a new ip for awhile to see how it goes. The semi-legit guide is interesting I didnt know autohaggling existed.

    1. If you plan on dumping your other account, do write down the birthday because birthday cracking looks like a dim future :(
    2. Yeah, I'd do exactly that. Test out the waters...

As lightening says, With a new IP and nothing connecting you to your main your pretty much set to do anything you want with no comebacks to your main!

Try buying a 4+ monther from here after you have played around for a while with newbie accounts testing things out or maybe just start there using it in bakery or food ( i think you can buy peanuts worth 300k there?) its a good plan

Ill probably do that. I just created a newb account using a proxy. Do people trade np here for forum cash and/or accounts?

Your newb account will only be good for igloo and maybe pharmacy I think, forum cash cannot be traded, but ricky or someone facilitates that (ie you give him np he donates for you which gets you forum cash). Accounts are actively traded, in black market which you can see at level 1 or just pm some members that sell them (you'll notice ads on siggys)

Have multiple accounts been frozen based off of IP? I was wondering why so many people used proxies, but I didn't realize they were freezing multiple accounts connecting from a single ip... sheesh, this is scary =\

Not a hundred percent certain on this but you can get decent items definitely find a 10k + profit list and a suitable igloo autobuyer and you'll be set, not huge profits but its steady and easy, some people say they can get up to 300k, myself I average around 100k when I can be bothered using it, I main shop ab mostly these days. Pinata's and whatnot are low-ish rarity and usukicon bags are also nice profit

I think the IP and the cookies are used to freeze people. Back in the dialup days when I was scamming one account got frozen because I forgot to clear the cookies. I got a new ip by re-dialing but when I went to the website and logged into illegit account the cookie was still on the hard drive even though I logged out on neo. When I logged into the main after redialing again it was frozen. I had heard that Donna the co-creator had a lot to do with the freezing back then but I have no idea how true this is.

It's possible that they use cookies to track multiple accounts -- that's actually really clever, too!

I would definitely suggest using an igloo autobuyer, just be careful with it. Don't run it for more than a couple hours per day, and I personally have mine configured to grab anything that's as small as a 1k profit. As far as I know, there is no age restrictions.

If you're looking for a leg up with your restocking, autobuying is possible, but there's always risks. You may be interested in using GM scripts*. They're less risky, and you dodge at least some of the guilt you earn from cheating. However, the beauty of autobuying is that you can go out to lunch, and come back to a few hundred thousand NP profit. With GM scripts, you're still slaving over those blasted webpages.

*I added a set of two to the download section here, originally priced at 23 cash but I believe expon raised that to 35 during my two month hiatus. IMHO, if you want GM scripts, it's not a bad deal - one of them will automatically will in the haggle for you, and another removes the "Are you sure" pop up windows.

GM is short for GreaseMonkey. It's a free extension to Firefox. It lets you run JavaScript on pages around the web, and is nifty for all sorts of things. You do, however, need to find (or write) your own scripts - for example, I paid a tidy sum of NP to Heya and got an excellent Auction Sniper script. userscripts.org* isn't a bad place to look either.

To restate what I said earlier, most GM scripts you use will require you to do a bit more work than a regular downloaded program, but are of less risk.

    ---
*userscripts.org has a lot of great free scripts, but I'd advise learning a touch of JavaScript before heading out there - often, people will upload cookie grabbers and say they're something else. Always look at the source code of the script before you install.

Oh I get it. Kind of like the FF addons but more advanced? I know a little Javascript but its just mostly to get it working. I have no clue what it does:) Anything I tried would be on my laptop with a different IP and router so Im too worried about grabbers but thanks for the heads up.

Well, JavaScript is a scripting language that let's you change the page after it's been loaded. So, when you clicked on "Quick Reply", JavaScript was used to show the reply box. Most webpages - including Neopets - will run JavaScript on their pages. The trouble is, it's hard to run your own JavaScript. GreaseMonkey lets you do that.

Did this help... at all? lol

Oh yeah I completely understand. I know what javascript is. I used to make webpages. Ive just never programmed it myself and barely know what the code is doing etc. I already got greasmonkey installed to clean up the ads thanks to the great guide on here. I will probably start trying semi legit now that I bought a good shell account and am on a new ip.

Concerned note though, my new ip is slightly different then my old one (the one i used the main main on) by two octets. Do you think this will be suspicious?

Also rico, which are the GM scripts that removes the are you sure stupid thingy? Are those in the DL section? I have the link to the autohaggle one.

I don't think you're in too much danger, no. Often, an ISP will dish out very similar IPs to its customers, and I don't think TNT is that unreasonable.

Here's the link to the GM scripts I made. Expon set the price, so blame him if it's too high :p.

Also, a tip... buy this program, use it cautiously, and make bank:
