Kinda figured this would happen soon, but there really is no way to tell whether or not a shop has a CGer in it, is there?
Yep there are ways of telling. I have spoken to the guy who is using this new cger and he says its only affecting I.e users.
*Fx, not FF. And the obvious way of avoiding CG'ers is to stop trying to user shop snipe for a bit. Or, set up a user shop autobuyer that doesn't have JavaScript support xD.
^ What is Fx? Is that even the same thing as Firefox? I don't do much with user shops anyways. How do these things attack? Do you just need to go in their shop? I wasn't really there during the last major CG out break.
Hopefully it won't affect firefox users too much. The CG code looks confusing to intergrade though... Probably better off with an auto buyer than to attemp something like that.
Just to settle this Source: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/releases/1.5.html And Will, I love JavaScript too much to go without it. And I also wouldn't say "normal people" use NoScript!
hmmm, so is there any patterns or anything in cg's shops/galleries? Obviously it wouldn't be anything too obvious but maybe any shop with highly discounted items that are actively traded all the time? eg. codestones? Does anyone ever use the quest boards to bait people into a 'infected' shop? I would assume that a shop with only hts overpriced items would be of little use to a CGer. Maybe malls would be relatively safer places to shop, generally the shops 700+ are expensive as heck so the owner wouldn't risk the account, also only noobish people really use malls to shop as they are overpriced, and noobs are not really good fodder for cookie grabbing. So start making mallers richer than they are by shopping there to avoid cg's perhaps?
I got Vista and Opera. Never been CGed even if I knew it was a CGer on that link. I had Java script activated too.
CG = Cookie Grabber And yes, the bait is often low priced codestones, e.g., just a handful of NP. However, if this exploit only works on IE, then it might be safe to shop anywhere. Opera (or Firefox, or Chrome) might help against CGers (aside from being better browsers xD) because they most likely have tighter protections on your cookie data.
Watch out little kids xD I still but stuff from SW, I don't mind that much, though I have learned to be more careful.
This is good to know I managed to avoid them at all costs but im super paranoid too. My sisters main was CGd at 8 Years old!!! Tnt is yet to give it back to her Shes dealing with BBB right now. I dont want to lose my main to them.. Sell it, yes thats one thing lol but for someone to steal it.. *uckers!!
