I've been trying to figure out how to change my IP recently. My ISP Optimum Online and my WAN IP is dynamic. I've tried tons of different things to change my IP and only two things work.

    1) Unplug my router for a really long time(a week)
    2) Clone my MAC Address, which works but when it only switches between 2 address and thats it.

I have a Belkin Router and can change the lease period for my IP

    Any ideas?

I use a router too, but it's worked for me like... Doing the IP release and letting it sit over night with everything unplugged.

I know you said you tried a few things but did you make sure to release the ip before shutting everything down?

No problem, I believe it's a Linksys Wireless Broadband router.
