After 5 months, I've finally convinced my father to upgrade my oudated Radeon 7000 (32 mb) into something better...but I can't decide which video card to upgrade it into. Anyone have suggestions? I prefer something that can place games like Battle for Midde Earth, etc. etc., the more recent games that require greater specs.

    Edit:
Well, umm moneywise, I guess that's no problem since we own a comp shop, I'll prolly leave the techinical things to my dad >_>

    My specs :
Pentium 4 CPU 3.40 GHz (He'll never upgrade it to Core 2 Duo:cry:)
    Radeon 7000 Video Card
    Windows XP
    512 RAM

Which kind of socket do you have, agp or pci express?

Yeah, it all depends on how much you want to shuffle out, money wise, and how they connect into the PC

I agree, it all depends on how much you want to spend and the kind of computer you have. Besides AGP or PCI-E, list all of your computer specifications, like processor, RAM, etc.

And what you want to do on your computer, that's most important really.

Also try upgrading your processor and ram if you have extra cash

RAM and tuneup utilities will make a pos computer into a pretty good one. Tuneup uttliliies are nice though

I've never found any tuneup utilities to give any significant improvement in performance.

Yea, I agree. Especially when we're trying to match up a video card for a computer. Programs like those make no difference.

Additionally, if you know, what power supply do you have and what are the amps on the 12V lines?
