    first, you should give us your card model if you know it... that could give us a start to do some search for your problem. I'll check back later ;)

    the link I provided you with is the driver for the video card. It will affect the video card only.
    I'm not aware if HP released a patch or not since I don't use those system but you should give it a try.
    If this is a known problem and they have the solution, try the hotfix from HP. If this fail, you still have the second option.

    no. from a pc store. they gave me heck tring to get it at sale price. ok update on the situation;

    i returned it & got the same kinda pc, this my 1st time really useing it, got it hooked up yesterday. i asked a bunch of ppl about it & heres wat they said, it was prolly a lemon cuz the manufacturer makes em so fast to get em on the shelf it doesnt get put together right. if thats the case then just a few lemons got made or its just compaq in general cuz they make their product fast to get it sold quicker instead of slower making it better quallity. my theory is if it happens to this pc i give up on compaqs.

    another person told me compaq can send me a new part, video card, graphics card etc, & i can put that in to fix it. no matter wat happens ill be able to fix the driver BUT my concern now is wat if something else is wrong later on cuz they manufacture them so fast? ill constanly have some kind of prob if its not a good quallity brand. ill end up spending more time fixing it then useing it even if not the driver but maybe other things that didnt get put together correctly. any feed back?
