Okay, so normally I hate facebook, but I joined anyway. :p
And now I've found this great charity group that I would like to reccommend.
    I quote:
The group is called "Let's set and break a Guiness Record!!!!", and I hope some of you will join.
I wouldn't have bothered posting this if it wasn't such an original and humanitary idea.
The group already has 2,649,937 members and is increasing rapidly.

So, want to do a good deed and be part of setting a Guiness World Record?
    Join. ;)

    Where would it go otherwise?
I thought you donated directly to the company, not to the facebook group?
I haven't been able to create a working paypal account yet, but as soon as it works, I'll start donating. :)

Well when I say directly to the charity- I mean like to the actual cause itself..
I mean there really is no way to tell what they're doing with the money once they get it..and you can't possibly believe that every dime they get goes to the cause.

Oh, well one thing I'd like to see, is that organisations targeted by the group were only major, worldwide, and not small one's, for several reasons.
If you suddenly give a large sum of money to a small orgnaisation, they will have problem spending it on the right things.
Major organisations though, often have an agreement which gives them some tax relief and other things (here in Sweden you can know which one's by looking at their bank account. If they have one that starts with 90-, they're legit), and these organisations must use all money they get each year, during that year. And at least 85% of the money must go in full to the cause. A maximum of 15% may go to things like paper, office rents etc.
Although it's a good cause to give money to small organisations, just giving them one big bag of cash and then leave them, will not do any good. They'll belive that there's a big interest in their cause, and while there might be, it won't be anything near the initial deposit. It's better to give small contributions and increase them over the time.

But then again, there aren't that many big global organisations out there.
At least 52 would be needed and the only ones I can come to think of are Red Cross, Unicef, Amnesty, Green Peace and Doctors without borders.
