So ive been going through my main accounts that have been frozen over the past 6 years. I created a new account, and named 3 pets after my 3 main accounts that were frozen over the years (2 self froze, 1 advent calender multi account froze). Man the nostalgia. I also tried picking up old account names of popular frozen members. lol I missed hynfaerie by 4 months. V_team, psxfaq, random_acts, and alombar42 should be released soon...so u bet ill be waiting lol.

I have never heard of this either. Do they re-release pet names or pound them from frozen accounts?

Frozen Account Names are never rereleased according to TNT. Only the names of accounts were are inactive for very long periods of time. Eample: the account name pea was put back into circulation months ago.

Frozen pets are just that, frozen pets. They'll remain that way for a very long. Probably forever, or until TNT messes up when updating the servers and someone forgets to reinclude those pets. Or something along those lines.

((note: I apologize if this is considered grave-digging; I just had the urge to include that little piece of information...))

You're adding to the topic too so there's no problem :D

However, TNT have been known to re-release frozen names, but they've only started doing it relatively recently as far as I'm aware. One of my old account names was re-released last year and some idiot got it who then promptly stopped logging in after a few weeks . What a waste.. But yes, the last time I was aware of it happening was around Christmas time

So how long is it when an account is frozen until the name is renewed?

if they have started renewing account names which i am unaware, i don't think it would be based on a certain amount of time but rather how badly they need to free up space...

At some point I'd imagine they'll need to either free up names of extend the character limit to make room for more.

I don't know, doesn't seem like they are too concerned about that. Pet names maybe, but it doesn't matter to them if pets have digits and letters in their names. This makes us not want the pets as much, but as for TNT I don't know. Maybe there is an expiration date set on the account the day it is iced based on the offence?

    Who knows...

You might notice... TNT never brags about how many actual accounts there are, just the number of pets.

If they deleted all the frozen or inactive pets, their numbers would drop dramatically and then they owuld have less to show to potential advertisers.

They stopped being a site that was made for users a long time ago. Now it's just the $$$'s they are interested in.

The more pets they can say are registered... the bigger the bucks coming in frmo the advertisers

There is no way of knowing when or if an account name will be re-released. I think it's probably just a random selection of accounts that deleted from the system and therefore the names are made available again, whenever they need some extra space.

I'd just like to point out that we aren't talking about accounts being unfrozen, but about the frozen accounts being deleted from the system in order to allow the account's name to become available again

I just noticed a username that used to have loads of gaming trophies was a really well known account which then became frozen. The account it now a couple of months old so they must re-release! My last iced account was 2 months ago so it will be ages till thats back on the market, and no one would want that name anyway haha!
