I believe the only random event that can change color is getting zapped by Boochi which turns your pet into a Baby or he'll just miss. Other than that I don't think anything else changes your pets color.
I thought Sloth only handed out transmogrification potions. I got my bori zapped by boochi once. Sure, it looked cute, but I had recently painted it Fire, a colour a bit more suited to battledoming. Although it was funny seeing a baby take on Vastraliss
Actually, other than Boochi there is one other event. If you're pet's mood is very low, it's possible (but rare) to get a RE that turns it blue.
I've gotten two of my pets zapped by Boochi, one was an ogrin and looked very well as a baby, although it's one of the colours I like the least. Never gotten the blue RE though. =)

actually thier are many events ,boochy,flask of rainbow water,bleu, and the most common is the invisable one.
Flask of rainbow water is not a RE...you get it from fishing. I forgot about the invisible one..but honestly..you're only going to get so many replies..saying the same thing..because those REs aren't exactly common
Booci got a hold of me once and changed it to a baby. I have also gotten the your neopet is feeling blue RE before that changed the color from green to blue.(It was a lab pet)
