ok i bought a new processor, but when i was trying to install it i saw that i cant, i thought all was compatible but now i see that i have a socket of 478 and the new processor needs 775 x.x so, its possible to change the socket or i need to change ALL the mother board?? and if its possible how much the socket costs? :s (like an hour searching in google and find nothing u.u)
You definately need a new motherboard. Sockets are not interchangeable, but how much experience do you have with things like this? I ask because I'd go for a socket 939 processor and motherboard. Socket 478 is old and slow, and so is 775
