did you know :nope: intel is gonna release its 8 chip processors by the end of this year(hopefully) and that they are also gonna release their x86 processors :yup: HA! HA! HA! AMD is gonna go mad!! >
That is fascinating! AMD is still lagging behind with the quadcore, and the speculation here in our circle of friends was that they abandoned quadcore and is instead concentrating on the higher cores, 8 being the prime suspect, but if Intel is so far into development... I LOVE AMD, I'd be really sad if Intel beats them in this game, so I'll be rooting and hoping that they're working on 16 and 32 processors :yup:
lol who in their right mind is going to buy a 8 core chip...especially first gen really think about it guys, nothing utilizes dual core atm so why waste your money on 8 it's sad that AMD is lagging behind but I wish they'd stop pandering to the hype and just get a solid cheap dual core out....the one out now is ok but lets have faster cooler and with less energy req for half the price...let Intel run loops around quad core
I wouldn't be loling just yep chtu! [...] AMD has been working on their 8 core processor for a little bit now, and I know Intel's just recently started. I'm an AMD fan as well, even though I have to admit it, Intel is "crushing" AMD right now. AMD's release of the Phenom was too quick, and with the TLB bug many people were unsatisfied. Intel took their time, and though they didn't win when it came to release date (for quad core on a single chip), they still got more sales and more happy customers out of their C2Q's. In the end, that's what really matters. Though AMD's 8 core won't be released till next year, I think it's a good move, it gives them some time to work on it after Intel's and work out the various tweaks and flaws within. Plus, as noted in an earlier post; 8 core processors would just be a waste because already utilizing four can be tough. Well, hopefully by the time AMD releases theirs in 2009 it will be aimed more for servers and there will be motherboards and better technology available for them . Just my 2 cents. AMDFTMFW
