I have a 3rd Gen and run a Texting app on it. I've heard with the new 5th gens you can make calls with the texting/calling apps. The skype app is nice though, its like $3 for a month of calls. which would eliminate a lot of bills for me. then again the new 5th 32GB is $300 so It would pay for itself in like 5 monthish. Does anyone else use a calling app on Ipod touches?
I use Skype on my 3rd gen because I make a lot of international calls and it's much cheaper than what the phone companies charge. I've only recently gotten a text app for it (text+ I think), and it works pretty well. Supposedly it works for calling, too, but I haven't tried it out.
See I have the Text+ app that I have been using. How do you make out going calls with the 3rd gen? I though it didn't have a mic on it but I am normally wrong about everything.
It doesn't, so you're right about that. You have to have the Apple earbuds with the microphone plugged into it (or another brand with the mic feature).
