I was passing by my site (http://www.hilaryduffspot.com) and noticed that I have a Google PageRank of 2. I dno exactly if this is good or not, since I actually don't know many about this PageRank thing, I only know that it is the measure of importance of a page in the web. So, is a PageRank of 2 good? Or is it just crap? Also consider that the site is online since around 4 months ago.
I did search for some explanation but haven't found anything usefull yet except this site: http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html This rankpage thing seems a bit weird to me, firts time I ever heard of it... Edit: Rank from 0 (poor) to 10 (very good)... so 2 is a bit on the low side of the scale.
yeah, i have the pagerank thingy on my toolbar too.. neopets, with 25000-50000 players on at any one time, only has a pagerank of only 6, so dont feel too bad yours is above average, at least
Hmmm I see, it's not that bad at all (I guess), as neopets as over 6 years since it's online and my site's only 4 months Maybe adding AdSense to the site will increase its pagerank even more?
i thought neopets was like 8 years old? since this year is like y9 or something.. anyway, isnt adsense just placing adverts on your page? doubt it would have any effect... well maybe allow you to earn some extra income P), but i dont think it affects pagerank.....
Oh ok, so neopets has 8 years. I wonder how will my pagerank be in 8 years.. (probs won't even be ) Yea, adsense is just for make profit of your site by placing ads, but as it is a Google feature I thought it'd help. Most probably not.
Hmm Google is really strange to get higher up the list you have to do all sorts of things which is why the most relevant often isn't at the top.
the page rank system is all about links to your site. If a site with a high page rank links to your site that pushes up your page rank. see how many sites link to yours on Google by searching link: http://www.yoursitehere.com
