I want to buy more RAM for my computer. I have 1 gig, so I should prbably upgrade to 2 gigs, right? I have a Gateway 503GR, so (I think) I need PC3200 DDR. Crucial.com is selling two sticks at 17.99 each. Is that a pretty good price?
That's pretty good, but if you're not set on buying crucial, Newegg has Kingston available for $15. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141424
Don't "think" you know which type of RAM you need, it needs to be exact. The wrong type of ram won't work and won't be good.
I just bought a Gig of RAM from crucial.com, and the ram delivered works perfecty. Arrived during the dead of night by UPS. They have a quick-n-easy little form that'll point you in the right direction of what you need, for any manufacturer, series, and model. I like them, and I'll definitely be returning if I need more in the future. (I know it's an old thread, but this contributes to the main topic, and it's only like sixth down anyway. >.>)
Curse you with your DDR2 compatible mobo! I've been needing to upgrade my system with another gig of DDR ram (an upgrade to a whopping 1.5 gigs, yay) for ages now, but I'm too cheap to pay 50 bucks for a stick of obsolete. Crucial makes quality stuff. You'll probably get it faster if you ordered from newegg though. Or if you want to be cheaper, get it from a discount place like tigerdirect or canada computers. Oh wait, those are both canadian. What are the american alternatives to those?
I don't know about that particular price, but when my clients buy memory through me, I usually go with crucial.com. It's the right memory, easy to find, at a nice price.
