Hi, I'm fern. You might not know me, I just signed up today! I've always wondered how neopets made their graphics. They're just simply stunning =) Can any of you give me any recommendations? I have heard people recommend flash, PS, PSP and stuff, but they don't seem to work for me, or maybe I've not had enough practice with them. Perhaps I need one of those fancy tablets or pen-mouses? LOL I'm soo clueless, aren't I. Anyway, feel free to talk to me. I'm quite friendly and would love to meet new people.
The neopets team makes their graphics in various ways. For big, important, one pose pictures, they sketch it first on paper, then scan it and complete it in photoshop. For things like items that they have to create thousands of, they simply draw it on the computer from scratch. While most of TNT and some online artists use tablets, it is not necessary to be good- I have seen mouse users vastly superior to tablet users. There is not one program that is right for everyone- you simply need to pick one that suits your needs. You also need to practice! Just like drawing on paper, you have to keep doing it to get any better. Hope that helped!
