I'm thinking of getting into malling and have a few questions for those who have owned one before...

    1. What was your mall size?
    2. What was your shop size?
    3. What category were you?
    4. How much did you make every day/week?

Thanks for you participation! Don't spam this thread if you are not answering any of these questions. :)

there are three market places in neopets: spooky, island and main marketplace

to get into spooky you currently need a shop size of 248
    island 283
    main 542

if your shop is big enough to be in the first two catorgories, your sales will slightly increase but when you hit main marketplace your sales will increase expedentially

if you shop is big enought for sppoky or island try to get into a mall with the majority of the member in main and that will help your sales to start with

i pmed you with a link to a site with stuff about malling

    Thanks for the site!
Malling doesn't look all that great though. Profits are nowhere near that of a 2 week account at ABing [...]

yeah, but, i know people who mak over 1 mil a week in profits. you can make pretty good money from it easily with out needed to cheat, but its up to you. i my self am slowly bumping up my shop till i get it on to the spooky market place, or main market place. gl with it if you choose to do so.

malling is now less profitable as now neo made it harder to get to the main marketplace when they redid the shop toolbars and layout thing

    less customers = less profit

how is malling profitable at all?

why would someone use a mall and not just use the SW or SSW for the cheapest item

is there a guide or some explanation on how this is profitable above just pricing lowest on SW, because if so I would be interested, in fact I've been pretty curious about this for about 5 years

Basically you get 2 types of people shopping at malls:

    1) New players who don't know much better
    2) Lazy players who don't want to wiz everything and don't mind paying the extra for the convenience.

I have recently joined a mall on one of my accounts. I only have a size 91 shop, but most of the others have size 200+. I'm not seeing a great deal of benefit yet, but I suppose I'll have to hang on and see how it goes. If you're interested, I'm dealing in Food & Drinks.

i'm sure there are plenty of new players who don't know and willing to pay high prices of the item...... why don't do malling while using game trainer at the same time??

Malling is pretty much dead now that they took away the link to Marketplace...

Ok, I stocked my shop up with stamps and priced them around 500 np each above shop wiz price. Then I advertised on the shop ads board for 10 min and i had around 15 stamps sold. Not extravagant at all, but much better than I had expected. Also, the stamps sold were all bought by 3 customers, so that shows that when someone is browsing a shop, they buy a lot, not just one thing like when people are using the SS.

Bear in mind that I didn't have an NB ad, a mall, nor a marketplace spot (my shop is size 50 :p ).

So posting on the boards is a good way to get people to your shop? Hmmm....I'll have to try that! :)

Yeah.. Who'd have guessed it, eh? o_0

500NP above shop wiz would be a reasonable markup for a size 50 shop anyway, well I'm guessing at your stamps are mainly the 3-6k variety? Try raising the prices by around 25%. I have found in a mall that I can easily sell items at this price (and quite a few at upto 50% and a few at around a 100% markup), but in all honesty, I never really tried doing it before I was in the mall so I have no comparison. I suppose I could have gained this result just by advertising, but I don't think it's all that likely.

Actually, the stamps were all under 4k np so the mark-up was around 20-25%. The only real difference in being in a mall is having around 10 more places to link to your shop. So I'm estimating that if everyone in the mall actively advertises their own shop, you get around twice as as many visitors (not everyone will click to your shop). So the mark-up for being in a mall should be around 40-50% assuming that you are in a mall that gets a consistent amount of visitors.
