So I signed onto neopets today, only to find the familiar image toolbar missing in the marketplace :[. It has been replaced by text which seems like a step backward to me. Anyone have any ideas on why neopets would do this?

My first guess what that they added "Text" to the Image/Flash option bar, and yet...

It does kinda seem backwards, but it could very well be that the image simply confused the n00bs too much - after all, why would a purple Cybunny be BD, and some sort of... buzz morphing potion?... be the inventory? The only thing that made the image familiar to start with was that we had gotten used to it xP

I was totally lost by the text toolbar, couldn't find anything... TNT has really gone downhill since the days before I last quit Neopets.

Everything was nice, simple, and yet elegant. Now its all ugly and confusing.

but at least there was an image, the text is a pain to use

I'm hoping they are updating the bar and the text is just temporary.

i hope it stays as text, that way mallers dont get to rip people off anymore by pricing their items 10k more than the shop wiz and people still buying them...those mallers with shops size 600+ can make 500k a day like that easily, and all they gotta do is restock their shop

Well, that's really an unfair statement. Mallers spend millions in order to get their shop to the size they are. Plus they spend 4 million a week to get on the notice board.

meh, I guess that's true. But but they were also making 5mill a week without doing anything than restocking their shop. When on the other side if you're a good restocker you get iced in a heartbeat even if you arent using programs. I just think that taking the toolbar away evens things out a little bit. Most shop size 600+ malls are still making about 2mill a week per shop and when diving the 4mill noticeboard per week by 8 people its still comes out to 1.5mill a week which I think is completely fair now.

Zero is absolutely right. Mallers spend millions on their shops in order to make millions. It's absolutely not unfair. And conterary to popular belief, they don't make the majority of profit from 'ripping people off,' they make from inflation. They keep their overpriced items in their shops for weeks and months until the price rises to their own price, at which point they re-stock and raise the price, until inflation rises to that new price, and the cycle continues.

If you malled, you'd understand. But I'm sure you can't afford it and instead make arguments out of envy. :)

theres no need to judge me and say i envy mallers which I don't. I only envy the ones with shop sizes 1000+ because that takes alot of time and effort into restocking it. i tried minimalling but that doesnt work that well...And mallers dont wait for inflation, most malls have items like black satan collar and quest items priced at around 8k each when you can easily shopwiz them for 500np
