So when window's starts (XP home) it goes to the user accounts. I click my user and opens this thing that says Insufficient system resources to run the requested service or something of that sort, and when it logs on it has a blue background and all these .DLL things open that say cannot run the requested programs.

If anyone has any idea why this occurs Please PM me or post here, I can't open MS word about 85% of the time my computer is running. =/

Sometimes it says the RUNDLL is in the wrong location or it can't be located.. something to that idea... and then like the blue part of the 'log off' or 'switch users' menu is transparent.. it's been the transparent thing for about a month now, but just two days ago did it start saying the RUNDLL and then no programs open. =/

If I restart the computer, it'll just be really slow and say RUNDLL can't be located and I dunno what the heck to do.. =/

Is there a software program that could possibly fix this problem, or should I have it checked out at geek squad or something? =(

    All help is HIGHLY appreciated.

Im pretty sure you must have recently installed something? Because your computer don't have enough ram to support all the programs at startup so it will blue screen on you.. lol had it happen to me. All you have to do is either go into safe mode(click F8 while start up is running could be slightly different on other OS/bios but rougly the same I have never seen it other than f8) just keep clicking through it and it asks for safe mode. When your in there. I don't remember if you can edit it but go to run and type in msconfig. Find the newly in there program in Startup and just uncheck it. Or you can just do a system restore to the previous day or so before you installed it. The last way you could change it is just go out and get more ram. Hope it helps ;)

I think 1 GB of RAM should be good enough for all the stuff I run, it was never a problem when I had gotten the computer and I actually think I used up more resources when it was newer than I do now. =/

I'm thinking maybe the problem is I got a virus or something of that sort, but not really sure how to figure out if it is one or not.

I'm running counterspy and it says I have a trojan and two trojan downloaders... so yeah

If it is virus Protection you are needing I wouldn't buy norton. Try downloading AVG free antivirus and Zonealarm for a firewall. If you want a proxy not proxy server. Look up proxomitron it does wonders for adds and lots of virus of getting on your computer.

I guess it would be wise to try a free one first, rather then spending 60 bucks on a copy.

    Yep definately do that.
Get avg free and run a scan see if it picks up anything.
Then also run adaware and spybot search & destroy because it could also be some spyware or adaware that's causing your problem.
If all else fails you can always reformat.

who said anything about buying :p

Erm I can't say this is for sure, but do you have any un-used but still quite full partitions?
