Okay, I did a search and I couldn't find where anyone has posted anything about this already so...

Remember a couple of days ago in the News, when TNT were asking for Beta participants for a new site feature? Well, apparently this is what it's for:

NC Mall or Neopets Customisation Mall

Basically, it's a feature that will soon be available, where you can buy (with actual, real-life money) "exclusive, premium wearable items, backgrounds, trinkets, and more" for your Neopets.

You can read a short article on JellyNeo.net about it here:
    http://www.jellyneo.net/index.php?subac ... m=&ucat=6&

What do you guys think about this soon-to-be new feature?
    Will you use it?

Edit: By the way, I applied to participate in the Beta, but I haven't received a Neomail from TNT stating that I've been accepted, so I'm assuming that I wasn't chosen. Did anyone else here apply?

alright, let's all waste money on things that don't have any purpose other than making our pets look pretty! seems like a miserable idea, but then so did premium when they started it, and thats doing just fine :p

Like the purpose of this game is purely entertaining the users
I think it's another feature like premium. Pay to have nicer pixels. But it's up to people to buy or not, they don't order you.

    Nah, they won't do that.

Doing that will scare away the normal visitors, which they need to keep the number of pageviews high, to earn more money from their advertisers

    sick world...

Frankly, that pisses me the hell off.

I understand in today's society it's always about money. If they want to open up that stupid NC mall, TAKE DOWN THE ADS!!

They are making enough money off those alone, seriously.

The problem with these kinds of topics is that everyone acts like we would never 'sell out' either. I used to think that too, don't get me wrong. But there comes a time you have to accept that everyone wants to make money

Just another status symbol for people with too much money. Unless you can sell the items for neopoints I don't see a problem.

This is very true. Most of us wouldn't pass up a reasonable opportunity to make some extra cash. After all, we need it to survive. It costs money to run Neopets. They have salaries and bills to pay. It's growing, and with growth comes change. At least they aren't forcing us to pay. They're just adding new features that you can purchase if you want to.

The only problem about this whole thing for me is that I have a tendency to want to buy stupid little things like this. You know how some people like to buy lavish, expensive things? I have a problem with buying a lot of stupid little pointless things. I'm probably going to waste so much money on this crap.

I think it could turn into some kind of legal black market situation..

Someone buys these expensive things and then gives them to someone else for so and so neopoints..

unless there's some code with it or something

we'll have to see i guess

They'll probably make it to where the items can't be sold or traded, etc. like they do with the newbie pack paint brushes and petpets, or the deluxe paint brush sets or whatever they're called.
