This works for me but I'm not sure if its just for me or not so I need some people to post their results.

I think this only works with DSL users, but maybe it'll work with others so please test it out.

    1. Go to http://www.cmyip.com/
    2. Leave this window open
    3. Unplug your modems power and the modems phoneline/cable for atleast 10 seconds.
    4. Plug everything back up and wait till you are connected to the internet again
    5. Go back to the cmyip.com window and refresh the window and see if your IP changes

When I do this my IP changes everytime, I have SBC DSL btw... please post your results

IF you found this informaton helpful +Rep would be just lovely :p

IP: 76.123.123.123 - Spammed Neoboards with accounts xxxx xxxx
IP:75.123.123.123 - logged onto main account to check mail and do a few taks
    etc

I do this just incase my IP gets changed back into an older one I had, thanks for posting chilly

now if you want to go legit you wont get iced for rsing anything good... i expect 50% of all profits, just playin.

I figured this out when my modem had messed up and I had to re-configure it and all that crap and I noticed my IP had changed, so like 2 weeks ago I did an experiment to see if I unplugged it would it change, and if I left it unplugged longer would I get a totally different IP...and it didnt matetr how long it was unplugged

i dont kno if this is exactly true or not, but usually when u trace ur ip, it usually says where ur ISP is located or something because they need to protect ur privacy(mine says victoria, i live in vancouver, and sometimes it says calgary(my isp's main headquarters i think)

    wow

Wow, I'm surprised so many people didn't know you could do that to reset your Ip. I've been doing it for a while, like on rapidshare, when you reach your download limit and they make you wait a certain amount of minutes before you can download files again, I would just unplug my modem and I wouldn't have to wait anymore.

I've seen this suggested so many times and have suggested it myself on numerous occassions... I thought everyone already knew this? It just doesn't work for all connection types. Maybe we should just sticky a topic saying that this can be done otherwise we're going to get topics like this every few weeks or so..
