Nobel Peace Prize goes to Al Gore

So Al Gore has gotten the Nobel Peace Prize for putting Global Warming on the agenda.
What's your first thought on this?

 

I think that he deserves it 100%. The man has dedicated himself to help make the world aware of this global issue, and I think that he has done a great job.

 

Hes an inspiration for me. He deserved the award.

 

It's good that he tries to do something about it, even though I don't believe in Global Warming

 

i dont particularly like al gore

but i applaud this efforts with global warming....

it just seems like....i dont know. i get this alterior motive vibe from him

like does he really care about global warming... or did he just see an opportunity he could back and go with it....because he knew it would bring him this "fame"

Congratz to Gore, but he shared his prize with some members of the U.N General Assembly. I wish more people would listen to Al Gore, because his stuff is true. We should be focusing more on saving Earth, than weapons.

 

initially i did not have too good an impression about al gore. (but i did want him to beat the crap out of bush in the elections, which he lost)

But after i heard about his efforts, my opinions about him changed.

The last nobel prize I heard about is the Chemistry one... anyway I don't know too much about these prizes... are they assigned every year? Only to one person, right?

 

Yeah, the Nobel prizes are supposed to be the highest prize you can ever get. Given once a year.

 

Al Gore is some politician in the US that ran for president two terms ago. He is a democrat and was challenging bush for presidency at that time.

Recently he became actively involved in raising environmental awareness.

 

Personally, I dont really Like Al Gore but props to him for bringing up the issue. He deserved it 100%. Its not easy to do what he has done

his 30 million dollar house uses up 5 times the energy than all the other homes in his neighborhood (proven on the news) and he preaches about how we all need to conserve energy
the nobel peace prize is a joke
they even gave it to jimmy carter, one of worst presidents EVER

I think he's dedicated himself well. I do support him somewhat, however I'm a bit skeptical still.
