Everything I try to unrar it's said Packed CRC error or something. I don't know what to do. And When I try to install some games it says the same. I am becoming desperate and just called my therapist this morning. I will +rep those who will throw me some advice to end this.
Usually, when you get this message, it means that the file is either corrupted or damaged... So I guess that first step would be to be sure that the file is ok. and then, If you're sure that the file is good and still get this message, you can use the option "Keep Broken Files" when clicking "extract to". It will skip the message display and extract the file anyway.
Packet CRC means there's some corrupted file during transfer. Usually this happens when you do plenty of file transfer. Try re-downloading the file and see if it's able to work or not.
Have you tried another program to unzip/unrar/unace/uncab ( :arf: ) your files ??? And you said that this problem happen ALL the time ??? Whatever the file format ??? And when you're talking about games, I guess you download something like a DEMO from the internet and it's a .exe file witch will be unzipped before installation ?? Cause I hardly see how a game from a cd could give you a CRC error. If you don't mind, send me the link or simply the file and I'll see what's happening. I suspect a crappy internet connection but again, it should not do this every single time. Thinking about it, if you rar a file yourself and than try to unrar it, do you get the same message ??? Edit: If I get the file working right, I'll rezip it and place it on my private web server for you to download. No hassle, direct download. And I know that this server is working right.
No errors in this case. Winrar then Rarzilla then again Winrar. Not quite all the time. I just changed my torrent client and almost everything got back to normal. Spoiler No crappy internet connection. Just a bunch of registry errors and stuff but I repaired most of them. Thanks for help, tharoux After I read all this I figured it out. P.S. : Some split Rar archives give the errors now but I checked "Keep Broken Files" and it worked. Although , the graphics and stuff are kinda crap and some GUI never appear.
Ok, now I understand better... If you're using torrent, yeah, sometimes, you may encounter some broken file... I've been using UTorrent for the past 4 months and never had a single problem with it.
