Poxies die quickly as most people set them up and then realize they are insecure... and thus close them to the general public.

If the list you're using is over an hour old... then most likely they are dead proxies.

I have a similar problem, I'm not sure if the problem is because I have my 2 computers connected by a router or not but whatever. When I enter the ip:port under tools and everything and then try and go to a page and see if my IP is changed the page doesn't load, nothing on the internet loads I just get an error. Can anybody help me?

that's because you're changing your IP access to your router.

You communicate with your router.... and your router communicates with the internet. It's the routers IP address that needs to be changed... and that's not an easy thing to do

is there any way for me to either test the proxies or create my own proxy somehow?

Edit: YES!!! i got one to work. also the only way it worked is after i turned off open dns do you think that effected the connection in any way?

there's a number of ways to test a proxy...

you can try it in a browser... (the easiest)

or use a program... like proxyway...

once you load up a proxy... always goto:

    http://whatismyipaddress.com/

to test it to make sure your real IP is truly hidden.

If you read my post, you'll see that isn't an unusual event... they break all the time.

It's actually rare if they stay up an hour or so.

You could be using one on a totally legit account, right? But then there will be an ABer using the exact same one. TNT notices that ABer, and then you. Because you guys have the same proxies, TNT chain ices, and BAM. Your frozen for know good reason. Take chances, don't trust the proxy.

That makes perfect sense, yeah, I guess I wouldn't trust 'em now.. lol, then again, never knew how they worked in the first place, now I don't need to.

Well... I still don't know how they work. And it could hide your legit accounts in a sense, but whatever account you are using the proxy on, the freeze rate will increase.
