Sorry, your question isn't very clear.

Is that the RAM in your puter? or this forum?

As for deleting things off this forum... anything is possible, and I'm sure things are deleted all the time by the MODS and you can also prune the boards.

    Hope this answers your question.

    =o)

Theres no RAM on the forum, silly.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory, which are chips you plug into your computer which controls how many programs you can have open at once, the speed of your comp, ect.

You can end processes that are taking up memory by crtl+alt+del and clicking process, and if you click on user name, you can clear all of the processes it will let you (it doesnt let you clear WEBPROXY.exe and some others). You don't want to end explorer.

But the best thing to do is to go out and buy RAM, take apart your computer, and plug it in. When you open it up, there should be some slots.

    Hope this helped

    zer0ordi3yo, I'm aware of that... <chuckle>

I was a little confused, because one person that PM'd told me they didn't have enough ram to display all the topics on page. Seems they were using a very old computer.

I'm using one, too, and it sucks balls.

I have 32 MB of ram, my comp freezes when I click in a text box, or hover over a link, or anything.

    No...
RAM is used whenever a new process is made, and it's made til the process is ended/killed.

Deleting your hard drive won't make your computer any faster. Buying more RAM will :p

I'm pretty sure you're tinking of cache.

It should still run great, yes.

Unless you have infected files, such as spyware and adware.

If you're experiencing problems, go to download.com and search for "Adaware" and run it. I'd also clear up anything you don't need, as you may need extra space for something else, if that scenario is real :p

well i dont understand why your ram has 200mb of it being used as nothing should be stored on ram, that only determains speed, if you want it faster you want to delete some old files of your hardrive(which i think is ur ROM)

    ...
You don't understand what RAM is
Its how much memory a program needs to run

    Straight from dictionary.com:

    random access memory

    noun
the most common computer memory which can be used by programs to perform necessary tasks while the computer is on; an integrated circuit memory chip allows information to be stored or accessed in any order and all storage locations are equally accessible

Basically, the 200mb isn't on the computer, it's how much memory programs are using.

    Nothing is stored there.
    He said it's being used,
If you go ctrl+alt+del, at the bottom, it has "Commit Charge"

    Mine says 356M

When I click Processes, on the right, theres a tab called "Mem Usage".

If I added up all of the numbers, it would equal 356 MB (save I wasnt doling anything else)

My computer only has 32, maybe 64 MB of ram, so it freezes a lot, and you can't do much at the same time.

a decent amount is 512, for basic stuff, if you're a gamer 1.2 gigs is good unless you're looking towards vista then basic stuff is 1 gig and then gamers would want 2 -.- but yeah i'm running on 256 xD crappy comp *kicks it some more*

For now, really 1gig is all you need. I have a computer with 256 (its also 5 years old) and it runs fine.
