Ok this is a guide which will explain the basics of mining and just getting your first bit of money. Once you have finnished the the tutorial island then you will find yourself in Falador. I advise that you go east straight away and go and fight some monsters which are just over the bridge. You have 2 choices while doing this: 1) If you want to be able to wear a nice shiny suit of armour when you can afford then train DEFENSE to 20 (there are lower levels for different armours but this will help you fight any monsters that attack you.) 2) Just train attack to 20 so that you can easily overcome any monsters. Now from here i advise you head North towards Varrock. On the way there you will come across a chicken farm. You could also choose to train here as you will get feathers from killing the chickens. These can then be sold for 5-6 gp each (more on selling later) Now it is time to go to Varrock. Once you arrive in Varrock go to the North-west (just west of the castle) and you will find the grand exchange. This is your central hub for buying and selling almost everything!! If you have feathers now is the time to sell them. I advise you price them at 5gp each but if you are willing to wait a bit they can be sold at 6gp each. Now you can start mining...I see this as the best way to make money... Head to the East side of Varrock until you see a bank. From this bank keep going East and you will leave Varrock and then turn directly South. Down this road on the west side of the road is a mine which is close to a bank and has many rocks making it perfect. Now that you are here mine copper and/or tin. Every time you get a full inventory go back to the bank and deposit your load and then head back and repeat the process until you are level 15. Now there is another choice: 1) keep mining tin/copper until lv 21 and buy a mithril pickax and move onto iron or 2) move onto the more competitive iron which may be harder to get. However at level 21 i STRONGLY recommend that you buy a mithril pickax and move on to iron as it will be much easier to mine with your new axe It is now a good idea to mine ALOT of iron. You can now sell all of your ores and you will have made yourself a nice profit. To summise: 1) kill lots of chicken and pick up feathers 2) Go to Varrock, sell your feathers and buy a Mithril pickax for later on. 3) Go to the East Varrock mine and mine lots of copper/tin ore untill level 15/21 4) Start mining iron ore and use the Mithril pickaxe when you hit level 21 5) Sell these ores if you want and get lots of coins Iron ore = about 100gp each so 1000 iron ore = your first 100k
