So last night I got a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt... my boyfriend too!!!!!!

    112 bucks !!!!

I mean... yea.. seatbelts save lives and blah blah blah

But really. 112 bucks. There are people I see everyday not stoping at lights, making illegal turns, speeding, STREET RACING, doing WAY WORSE things than me not wearing my seatbelt...

and I had a PERFECT driving record... and the cop thinks it is just fine to ruin that over a SEATBELT

Well my reasoning was... If I want to fly out my window if I crash then that is MY business. *shrugs*

But apparently my flying body is a hazard to others... so that is why I can't make the choice to fly through the windsheild or not.

And seriously... people have died FROM seatbelts too....

    112 bucks *grumbles*

    I had to vent...

    What is everyone elses opinions...

I think they are really starting to crack-down on people not wearing their seatbelts. That's probably why your ticket was so much. They have been running a lot of television ads about it lately.

I understand why you're annoyed, though. I suppose they just want to emphasize the importance of wearing a seatbelt. A lot of vehicle-related fatalities could be prevented by doing such a simple thing.

I was in a bad car accident a couple of years ago, and it had a huge impact on my perception of driving or even just riding in a car. In a split second everything in your life could change.

Sorry, I'm not trying to get all dramatic on you or anything. :p

Where you live, can you take a driver's ed course or something to get the ticket taken off your record? My husband just had to do that because he got a speeding ticket.

I know I saw all those adds and I was like PPPssssshhhh Whatever, how can they even tell if your wearing your seatbelt... I'm not laughing now hehe

I have heard about ways of getting it taken off your record.. but my ticket didnt mention anything like that.

    It gave me 3 options.

    Pay and go on record

Explain and get a reduction and still go on record

    Or Dispute

And I really dont have much to explain... I wasn't wearing it

I wish. Because I have been driving for about 6 years now and this is my first ticket

THing is though, its not your driving you have to worryab out. It's everyone leses. Like you said you see fools all the time doing stupid stuff.

Over here its the law to wear your seatbelt, it doesn't bother me 'cause when I crashed it stopped my going through the windscreen.
