So a friend of mine have been working on a Star Wars fanfilm for the last couple of years, I've posted about it before. Now it's in the last part of the production and he's shooting a scene and wants me in it. So he asked me if I had anything Star Warsish to wear. Unfortunately I don't, and I want to make something special since I know how much this project means to him (and the rest of the team around the globe). I figured I should make a Twi'lek costume, but male of course. I don't know much about these things but I was hoping that there might be some creative person or nerdy larper on here that could help me with how to make the whole squidhairthingy. The majority of the guides on google seem to make the hair too stiff, but I want to make it perfect since it's probably the last scene to shoot.
So, anyone know anything about these things and how I should make them? I'd greatly appreciate any advice and no, I'm not a Star Wars geek. :p

Maybe paper mache... It might look a bit synthetic though. How serious is this thing getting?

I was more thinking latex or foam to make it look and behave realistic.
Pretty serious, the guys who wrote the script live in three different parts of the world, I also know that one of the guys making some of the 3D animations live in Spain. The actors are all Swedish but speak English, but they're from completely different parts of Sweden and they travel here for all the shots, which is pretty amazing as there's really no budget except for my friend's pocket money and they still manage to get catering at the sets. :D

Latex would probably be a decent idea. Any chance of getting a brief description of the story line? I'm a bit of a star wars fan :)

You should probably use latex. You know. For that extra protection.

Here's that thread Virre made, with the actual trailer. I was mightily impressed, and can still remember it. If its meant to be non-profit, does that mean you are allowed to charge money for it and then donate it to charity?

I watched that teaser trailer. It looks awesome! Is it going to be like a full length film thing? or just a little mini movie?
