Anyone own one? Tell me what you think? Is it worth buying a tablet over a regular notebook? I can't decide(I'll be mostly using it for school) which to go with.

I'd love to have a tablet pc, but honestly, it would defeat the point of using a computer if you're just going to write on it. The only good use they have is for artists who do digital art.

Why would it defeat the purpose? I could save my notes right to my pc... my big question is also whats the price difference between a tablet and a regular notebook with similar computer specs. Like what does the touch screen cost me.

It just saves it as an image, doesn't it? The equivalent to writing your notes on paper and scanned it to your computer.

Theres a couple different ways you can do it, you can teach the computer to read your handwriting and type it as you go, or save as a image. You don't always have access to a copier though, although I do see your point.

Oh, I didn't know that about the handwriting thing. That's pretty cool, although you must admit that the computer can't always read your handwriting.

I guess it's good for slow typers, but I personally type faster. Though I do prefer handwriting notes.

I have a tablet and I love it. But I admit that I don't use nearly as much as I thought I would before I bought it.

How much freedom can you have? I mean, my own notes fro school are handwritten and pretty sloppy- diagrams drawn, underlined writing, some caps, some cursive, margin notes, arrows, labels, notes about specific terms or words scribbled in. Is that possible with a tablet pc? It's definitely not possible to type it.
