Training Guide: Here's a guide about all different ways to train your pet and such. It took me awhile to type out, so +Rep is appreciated. School Training: Most people know that there are 3 training schools, the Swashbuckling Academy, The Mystery Island Training School, and the Secret Ninja Training school. Each of them train 1 stat at a time, other than super bonuses, which can put you up by up to 5 points. These schools require that your level be at least half your highest other stat. Academy: Location: Krawk Island Courses: 1 Dubloon for level 1-10; 4 hour course 2 Dubloons for level 11-20; 6 hour course 5 Dubloons for level 21-30; 8 hour course 5 Dubloons for level 31-40; 10 hour course. The Academy has its advantages and disadvantages. First of all, it's generally cheaper slightly than the training school. Dubloons have deflated quite a bit lately. Also, on your pet's special day, it gets free training all day. Disadvantages are that only pets level 40 and under can train here, and the courses take twice as long as those at the training school. Training School: Location: Mystery island Courses: 1 Codestone for level 1-20; 2 hour course 2 Codestones for level 21-40; 3 hour course 3 Codestones for level 41-80; 4 hour course 4 Codestones for level 81-100; 6 hour course 5 Codestones for level 100-120; 8 hour course 6 Codestones for level 121-150; 12 hour course 7 Codestones for level 151-200; 18 hour course 8 Codestones for level 201-250; 24 hour course The Training school is slightly more expensive than the Academy, but its courses are about twice as fast. Also, pets up to level 250 can use this school. However, during war-time, codestone prices fluctuate, and some cost more than others (bri is 3.5k, main is 8k). Ninja School: The Ninja school is for pets level 250 and up only. The courses are paid in red codestones, and they take 24 hours to complete (I think, correct me if I'm wrong on this section. I don't have access myself, and I'm going off of what others say) Some red codestones are much cheaper than others, some run in the hundreds of thousands, some are dirt cheap. If you're level 250 and up, this is the place for you. Kitchen Quests: Location: Mystery island Kitchen quests, or "K-quests" as they're colloquially referred to, are quests which you can be rewarded with stat increases. The Chef asks you for 3 or 4 items, and when you bring them back, he either grants your pet stats, gives you an item (usually around rarity 70-80), or gives you neopoints (a low number like 1000). How do you know if a Kitchen quest is worth it? Realistically, you don't. From what I've seen, the chance to get stats is about 1 in 4, so if you do 4 quests at 5k each, a stat will cost you 20k. It is up to you what your threshold for quests will be, depending on how much you want to spend. The great thing about the kitchen quest is that training is instant; that is, you get the stat right away after you complete it. If you're speed training, and don't mind spending a decent amount, do these. Neopets has limited them to 10 quests a day, but that's still a decent amount, and if you get lucky, you can get lots of stats for cheap. Faerie quests: Location: Around the site As most people know, faerie quests are quests which faeries give you as random events. They ask you to bring them back an item, and then give you stats in return. The catch is, you can't use the shop wizard. This gives you a few options: Ask on the boards/friend, wiz it on a spare, buy from a mall, or restock it in main shops. Of course, you can refuse quests too. The Air faerie gives you 2 speed points, and asks for grooming items. The fire faerie gives you 2 strength points, and asks for clothes. The dark faerie gives you 2 hit points, and asks for toys. The Earth faerie feeds your pet, and asks for magic items The water faerie gives you 2 defence points, and asks for books. The light faerie gives you 1 level, and asks for cards. Other than the basic 6 faeries, there are some more floating around the site. the items they ask for varies: Space Faerie gives 4 levels Faerie queen gives 1 level, 3 strength, 3 hp. Of course, there's also the fountain faerie, but this is a training guide, so let's leave her out Faerie quests tend to be very cheap, and have good return. Do them if you need to train. If you don't battle, don't bother. The Lab ray: The lab ray is a map which you can acquire all 9 pieces and then gain access to. The 9 pieces normally run about 500k for the set, or you can buy them individually at about the same price. The effects of the lab ray are quite random. It can change pet colour, change species, make stats go up or down by 1-5, or change gender. According to IDB, based on about 2600 zaps the percentage youll get: Hp increase: 13.4% Colour Change: 13.0% Strength Increase: 11.6% Level Decrease: 10.3% Movement Increase: 9.7% Species+Colour Change: 9.3% Defence Increase: 6.4% Gender Change: 6.3% Level Increase: 5.5% Movement Decrease: 4.1% Strength Decrease: 4.1% Species Change: 3.0% Defence Decrease: 2.3% HP Decrease: 1.0% You can zap 1 pet once a day. As you can see, the lab ray has some obvious benefits. The training is instant, and for the most part, your stats go up. The problem is, your stats will be uneven. Your level goes down just about as much as your strength goes up, meaning, when you go to train your pet at the schools, you might have to train extensively first. Neggs and other stat increasers: Around the site, there are a bunch of stat increasing neggs and potions and such. Since there are so many, I'm not going to go through them all (since many are obsolete, the price is far too high), but I will highlight on some of the more common ones. Strength Serum: 1-4 strength points for 400k or so Cool Negg: 1-2 level, 1-3 hp, 1-3 movement, 1-3 strength for 600k or so Essence of Draconack: 0-2 strength, for 75k or so Snegg: 2-3 HP and 2-3 movement for about 400k Silver Knight Negg: 1-2 defence for 300k or so Purple Spotted Shroom: 1 strength OR 1 HP OR 3 HP heal (temporary) for about 100k. Has 1/3 chance to do each of them Ferocious Negg: 1-3 strength for about 400k Spiked Negg: 2-3 HP for about 500k Prices fluctuate. If i'm WAY off, let me know. These are all good, quick sources of stats, but they're expensive. If you're rich and want stats fast, go for it Scratchcards: Terror trove scratchcards are generally the ones people use to gain levels. You have about a 1 in 15 or so chance to gain a level using one of these 750NP scratchcards. You may now only scratch 5 cards a day, so you're limited in that way. You used to be able to scratch like 500 and get a whole bunch of levels for easy training. Hope this guide has helped As people post stuff and give me ideas of stuff I might have forgotten, I'll add to it. I was gonna make a comprehensive battle guide, but that would take me far too long, so this is what I'm posting for now. It took me a long time to type out, so +Rep is appreciated (but not neccessary of course ) -Hally
