Ok. So I'm am not good at the technical side of computers.

I just bought a new laptop yesterday. And It is preloaded with vista... of corse.... I couldn't even find one that still had XP.

    But my question is.

Can I load my Office suite from XP onto it? and it will function properly.

One guy at best buy gave me a bull shit answer like he didnt know but was making stuff up to sound smart.

The other guy told me I could. Sooo... I want to make sure. He said at first you couldn't but they redesigned vista so that office would work. *shrugs*

I REALLY don't want to have to PAY all that dam money for office again. I just got the full office suite on this computer not long ago.

Also What about other programs for XP... (games like sims and stuff)

    Thanks for the help

I'm pretty sure it would be fine, I've never tried it though.

I am going to be VERY picky about downloading ANYTHING on this laptop

My current computer has been through 2 referbs due to viruses and such.

    lol

So I pretty much am stuck with the legal way.

Though my friends husband works on compurers for the navy. And he can always find me the programs I need. Though the navy has not switched to vista yet. so everything is XP

Do you want to transfer your Microsoft Office onto your vista computer? All I do for my computers is stick them in my flash drive, then put them on the designated computer. Works like a charm, even for games and such. If you don't have a flash drive, find the discs and try installing on that computer, I don't know if the activation code would work since it's already being used on your other computer, but it's worth a go.
