This morning my computer was hacked and had the passwords to my accounts changed. I could not login or anything, (talking about my windows accounts). When you use any executable program, such as an autobuyer, that stays constantly connected with the internet, it puts you at risk. I'm not exactly sure how it all works, but i know that that was the only program i was running this morning that was connected to the net. any how after i turned off my computer and came back a few hours later everything was fine. I had no personal info on this computer so i guess they just were like forget this. Moral is make sure you have good passwords and a good firewall working. I had no password and a semi working firewall. If expon or anyone else could explain things a little better, and tell us how to keep our computers from being hacked while we AB that would be awesome. if not, hope you don't get hacked
thanks for the warning, I'll be sure to keep that in mind... +Rep and sorry about your accounts, hope you get them back
i havn't been to any user lookups. And you're talking about neopets accounts. I'm talking about my actual operating system. I literaly could not get to my desktop. When you have an aber on for hours constantly sending messages over the net, it makes it easy for hackers to get into your system. Becuase its an exe prog and you have to tell your firewall to let it through. So if a hacker wanted they could just follow you back through the connection you're aber is making and bypass your firewall. Atleast thats what i got out of what my dad explained it to me.
Sounds right. I should consult my brother. He's an IT specialist. Damn guy can easily bypass my computer's password because of his career choice. -.-
does the autobuyers open ports i think they do.. someone could scan for the open port and try to comprimise it.. was it the autobuyer here? maybe someone could patch it or maybe its just a unfortunate accident. I always run a firewall..
Thanks for the warning.. Will my igloo aber stop if I enable my firewall? I'm using a symantec client firewall..
