like, i've the MSN Icer, which prevents some people from getting online anyone has any other idea what other MSN "progs" there are? thanks!
i was kinda interested in the msn icer too. it seems like it was made as a parental control so they can keep their kids off of msn whenever they want.
I've never even heard of this type of program... That's interesting that someone would make something like that-- To keep others off MSN. Is it like freeware? Or do you have to like bootleg download it?
It's downloadable on this website, if i'm not mistaking. I've seen more of this programs already. Most of them work via the principle of sending so made login request that you will be banned from login in for some time.
That's really interesting. I think it's kinda creepy that people can have that kind of effect with programs! Crazy. I'll have to keep it in mind though if I ever get MSN.
I wouldn't be surprised if it works with other chat clients as well. Basically the trick is just exploiting a very decent security measurement. When you do a certain amount of 'wrong logins' at msn, you get blocked from loggin in for a certain time. This is because otherwise people could easily use bruteforce password hackers to hack an msn address.
More than likely it is just the nature of the program, (im guessing it routes your msn connections through ports controlled by the program???) That is characteristic of what a trojan does. Many programs used for cheating on games or doing fun things on the internet can be mistaken by lameo mcafee as a virus
nope the msn icer will just post login requests to msn. A trogen will be detected if another file is attacked teh the file or the file has teh capabiltiy to attakc onto another file whic really isn;t taht hard to do
