    QuadCore Q6600 @ 3.2ghz

    Is going fast... But I'm limited cause of my Internet Line because I have an high ping towards Neopets.com :(

    Sometimes, in fact, a best line is more important then a stupid CPU :(

    yes, you're right. But I have a ping of 250/300ms towards Neopets, so even with a Q6600 overclocked at 3.2ghz, I still have slow bought... Like 1.4 seconds :(

    That's because my stupid internet provider is crappy -.-

    Start --> Run... ---> type "cmd" (without "..") --> type ping www.neopets.com

    Check the average ping :)

    Does it really depends from how far from USA you are??? o_O
    Never thought about distance from Neopets' servers... sounds strange anyway :/

    ping = how long your signal takes to get there and back I believe so yes distance can be a factor but much more important is the quality of the network your ISP uses to get you wherever you are trying to go. I lose more time from US to Europe then I do from Hawaii to the continental US

    also quad core vs single core only matters if you are multi tasking, there are still no real programs that utilize dual core much less quad core...maybe CAD by now but i digress. If you are only using neopets, you're ram and browser settings would be of much more affect on your RS times

    Games are using multicores too :)

    Like the recent Age of Conan... But yes, you're right. A single core is way better then a QuadCore when using not-optimized programs

    Live in America --> average ping is between 80 and 120

    Europe with crappy connections (the standard ones) --> average ping between 200 and 300

    it makes a LOT of difference when restocking in shops like #2

    then I'm behind the curve on this info...I blame my moving across states with the lack of internet and my general apathy to anything MMO, excepting EVE

    how effective is the second core really? I'd like to see a benchmark comparing a dual core vs a single core of the same clock and make and with another graph showing the processing difference vs cost difference with a fat line marking the minimum, recommended and top out(where there's negligable changes to performance, or useless changes) specs
