White noise can be used to :

*Aid concentration by blocking out irritating or distracting noises in a person's environment.

*Aid bad sleepers with better sleep.

The following link can provide you with infinite white noise, pink noise, & brown/red noise :

This looks pretty useful, will try it when I'm studying and see if it really does improves concentration. Reminds me of the mosquito ringtone. :D

    LoL
i guess the effect varies from one to one.

Set the white noise orb on 12-14% would be comfortable for me.

A bit higher than that range makes me really irritated >:)

However, the brown/red noise is like the sound from waterfall, which is pretty much the most enjoyable noise :yup:

Ugh. I just cranked the white noise one all the way up. I think that I blew an ear drum. That was NOT the greatest idea that I've ever had. Wiki says that "Brown noise can be produced by integrating white noise."
Now I'm not going to get any work done today, because I have to figure out how you can integrate noise. Like, I understand it in theory, but not how to apply it.

Oh dear, this site has done the opposite of what it's supposed to to me. :/
Though, Brown noise at about 14% is meshing great with the bassline of whatever my neighbour's playing.
    :)

    I love Brown/red noise.

I can sit here and listen to it forever, its so relaxing. Like a HUGE waterfall. I've never tried it while I was working, though.
