once you hit the 50% mark in your hard drive the computer will be a little slower and if you continue to use more hardrive space all the way down to 10% free space, then you will feel a significant lag time in computer response.

It's always good to keep your hard-drive clutter free, so if you have some things that are on there for no reason, get rid of em.
I just went through mine and deleted 30 gigs worth of games I no longer play.

Will it be ok for what exactly?
You mean is it too full or something?
If you know you can free up some space then go ahead, otherwise I would say that's ok.

Having an external harddrive helps though :p.

hahahaha 34 gigs free thats more than the total space in my hhd when its empty. stupid ssd
but 34 gigs is fine, if it starts to dip below 10 then you should start to delete stuff. its not bad to have too much stuff on your hdd unless its completely full which creates a ton of problems

    Free space: 54.2 gigs

    total space: 186 gigs.

I download entire tv series, they take up a lot of space. 350 megs per episode, 20 episodes a season, 3/4 seasons or so.

I should put them on my external.

I have 50 gigs of music that can't really go anywhere if i want to listen to it.

    3 Partitions .

    First one :
    Free Space : 52.8 GB
    Total Size : 72.3 GB
    Second one :
    Free Space : 32.2 GB
    Total Size : 31.4 GB
    Third one :
    Free Space : 115 GB
    Total Size : 117 GB

A few minor CC packs errors but enought about me.

You should have at least 30%(or 15%) to defragment anytime.

If you have a small HD and are getting low on space, I would reccomend buying an external hard drive. You can get a 1 TB for $150 on friday.

    Personally I don't like going over 50%:
    Used space: 18.2 GB
    Free space: 93.5 GB

    xD

Regularly defragment your hard disk to help speed it up and save space. 50% is plenty of room. Depending on the manufacturer, cache and speed you may not notice a slow down at all, or atleast not til the last 15%.

Depends what you are using the computer for and your processor speed should be taken into account also. Personally I don't think the latency is much of an issue (should be quite insignificant), unless you are left with like 200mb space (Windows will start bugging you about it by then).
