Call technical support or something. It should still be under warranty, so they can send you a new one or fix the one you have.

No, it doesn't. Go to Amazon.com and read the reviews for the Intercooler. It draws power from your 360 and causes it to fail even faster than normal. If you want to cool your 360 down, use a laptop cooler.

your xbox is slowly dying... I was able to play for about a month and then, nothing... sooner or later, you'll get the "red light of death", 3 red lights flashing and the xbox won't start.... you should get it repaired as soon as possible.... if your warranty is outdated, some crew have found the flaw and you can repair it yourself... quite easily... I'm going to do mine next week, waiting for the heat gun...

    edit:
It's sad, but half of the xbox will finish like this

Wow, I am horrible with putting things back together.
I suggest you use a cooler for laptops...

The problem right now is that once it start doing weird thing, it's done. Never saw one repairing itself... ;)
Actually, the problem is the soldier for the GPU and ram... they are just cheap and with the overheat, fail slowly... you have to reheat your board with a heat gun gradually to fix them.... slow and delicate process but worth it if your not cover by the warranty anymore...

Is overheating common in the 360s?

Yeah... cooling is not a strong point for the xbox....
that's why you can buy a intercooler to cool it better.

I'm telling you, the Intercooler does more damage than good :( Just read the reviews on some websites. Initially, it seems to do a fantastic job, but the problem is that the Intercooler draws its power straight from the 360's power supply, which limits power to the rest of the system.

The reason the 360 overheats so much is its enourmous power supply. It has such a big power supply because it needs a lot of power for processing. Well, when the Intercooler sucks away some of the power, the rest of the 360 doesn't get what it needs, and causes other problems besides overheating.

I know some people swear that it works, and it probably does...for them. But the bottom line is that it is certainly not a solution for everyone, and if the potential downside is screwing up your Xbox anyway, I'd say it's not worth it.

The reason people suggest laptop coolers are safer is because they plug into their own power supply, away from the 360, which is the problem with the Intercooler. If Nyko made a version that plugs into the wall for power, I'd be the first to buy it, but unfortunately they haven't.

The Zombie one? You mean Stubbs: Rebel without a Pulse? That's for the Xbox....not the Xbox 360. I think the 360 has great features, and it's a very powerful, fast-running system. And considering that at the moment, the PS3 is $600, and only has 5 games, and can't play PS2 games, I say get a 360 and a Nintendo Wii for nearly the price of the PS3.

What do you mean it can't connect and it destroys your games?

And Xboxes had lots of problems when they were released...but they've been fixed. The first batch was so terrible that Microsoft voluntarily extended the warranty to one year. But your Xbox won't catch on fire or break on you unless you mis-treat it. Some people keep their Xboxes in a closed cabinet with no ventilation and wonder why it overheats. Or move the system from lying flat or upright while the game is running and wonder why the disc got scratched. You have to take proper care.
