Does anyone know if there is a way to download videos from youtube? Also, to convert them to a file type that can be opened in Windows Movie Maker?

I don't know if this will be of any help. But I have used the site below for several things including converting youtube videos to mp3s etc. So, there maybe something on that site which will help. I hope so anyway.

Here's a site that does it online. You just put the address of the video into the box, and a link will appear. Save it as an flv file or an mpeg file.

I needed this for school a couple of days ago, on Keepvid are you sure you can save it as an mpeg because it would only save an flv for me and it was very annoying and we have iBooks so it wouldn't work...

It depends on the actual video. Some videos, like Charlie the Unicorn 2 can be downloaded as MPEG-4 Media files. But others can only be downloaded as .flv
tharoux put up some links where you can download a program that converts .flv files into something else. Pretty handy, but if it doesn't work on your iBooks, i'm not sure what you can do. Unless you download them at home, convert them, then upload them into sendspace or another similar site so you can download from there.

Here, Get The Videos URL You Want. Copy It And Then Go To Vixy.net And Paste The Link You Want and then Click what you want to convert it to (MP3 or whatever) Then Click Start. It will convert and you can save the file. Hope I Helped :)

Download the "YouTube FLV Grabber." Just google it. Works perfectly. It comes out as an FLV file, and you have the option to save it as mpg, avi, or wmv. You can also edit the length and resolution. Great program to take youtube videos.

o_O There are so many ways to download YT's videos... didn't know!
So why YT doesn't allow to download them directly? It'd be too way easy <3

VideoDownloader downloads in .flv so you'll need a converter to .mpeg or somesuch but that should be easy to find
