    In response...

    1) Either way, to actually catch anything off of a toilet seat is so improbable - you would need a sufficiant amount of germs present to warrent any kind of worry, which is highly unlikely considering the fact that there are more germs on the surfaces surrounding the toilet than on the toilet seat itself - so I think that an arguement for either sex is unwarrented. However, having a Masters Degree on the subject of useless facts, I probably know more on the subject than the average person. Or I've at least paid more attention to the common sense of the matter. Either way, most people are just going to think that anything to do with the subject is gross, so they are going to make their decisions based on what limited knowledge they have.

    2) I don't really know how to respond to most of this, other than to say that sure, you're right, we don't have to aim. But the direct contact thing is a little off, because all the most amusing germs are small enough to make their way through the pores in TP anyway, and to be perfectly honest, the biggest risk with respect to problems that are a result of bathrooms would probably be pinworms (well, and hookworms, but they aren't usually prevalent in Western cultures) and they can move easily enough to get anywhere.

    3) It was a complete and utter joke. No seriousness at all intended. Seriously, if I said something like that and meant it, I would probably slap myself upside the head.

    4) When I say that I understand where they're coming from with their concerns, I mean that I understand how they can come to their conclusions, I'm not agreeing that their arguments are right. I'm saying that their arguements make sense to them, and therefore I can understand where they're coming from by making them. They're coming from ignorance and delusions. That's not my fault and I'd correct it if I could, but I understand why they think what they do. People make all kinds of decisions without having enough information, and it's easy for me to see their reasoning (usually so that I can turn it on them and prove why they're wrong, but that's beside the point).
    Aight?

about the toilet seat up business well id be glad if its atleast up instead of peed on ...
id rather have a man sit down though it means there will be "splashing" meaning some drips going over the side after hitting the inside of the toilet .. not very hygenic

We both put it down automatically. Never had any issue with that. But if it stays up once in a while, it doesn't really bother me

I don't see the logic in having to put the seat down.

The main argument from my girlfriend is 'I don't want to get germs' .. which is quite contradictory, if you know what I mean ;D

Anyway, building on that point, it's not like we're morons and piss all over the seat. It's not that dirty. Hence, it should be the person who wants the privilege of using the toilet who needs to move the seat into the respective position to do their respective business.

I'm a girl and It doesnt bother me when they leave the seat up, as long as they're willing to clean the toilet seat so I dont have to use rubber gloves just to put the seat down xD Compromise is needed here

I like the toilet seat and the lid down so that nothing accidentally fall in the toilet and I don't have to see unflushed fecal matter.

I don't see the big deal about the damn toilet sit being left up. Why can't women check before they sit? Come on now, haha.

It's just a matter of manners. I really don't like it when the toilet seat gets left up, but I don't complain about it. I just put it down and do my business. Some of these posts made me LMAO!

First off, let me start off by saying... LMFAO! Some classic posts. But on topic...

I think the guy puts it up, the girl should put it down. If the guy wants, he can put it down, but if he doesn't, so what.

As long as your not some teen/pre-teen girl that hasn't grown up yet, you have no right to complain about it. You don't hear guys complaining about having to put it up... If someone complained to me, i'd just pee on their toilet seat, and then put it up, lol. Taking care of business, one betch at a time :p

Honestly, I don't mind about putting it back down. I'm a guy, and well putting it down takes 2 seconds and almost no effort.
