Almost got CGed the other day. User put up cheap codestones but if it wasn't for Firefox and NoScript I would've gotten cged. But I changed my password just in case. :]
So what is cookie grabbing exactly? Just people who use bots to grab low-priced items? Why is it such a big deal all-of-a-sudden?
XD XD A cookie grabber steals internet-cookies (such as md5 hashes, which can then be decrypted to allow the person to steal the person's account). @ OP: How positive are you of this? 2 days ago I was informed that onsite CGers had been patched.
Ack, I'm so paranoid about CG'ers. I don't even dare to visit userlookups anymore. If I have to, I use another browser to do so. o.o;
CG=Cookie Grabber....Grabs your cookie and eats it so u cant have any ...lol just kidding... cookie grabbers are used to steal personal information(passwords etc)...beware... How do cg'ers get past html filters that neopets have setup???
I'm guessing that SRWare Iron (Chromium based browser)/Google Chrome is fine to use right? Only affecting IE users XD -- I don't even use that thing :lol:
Why will the CG only affect IE users? Sorry, I'm a noob at such things, but I would like to have a rough idea why, so that I can take precautions...
Well, every browser handles JavaScript differently - for example, I make websites for fun, and often I find that JavaScript which runs fine in Firefox won't work on Opera. It's possible that the JavaScript used is malformed (to get through the filters), and only picked up by Internet Explorer. Or perhaps only IE lets JS access certain cookie information. These are just guesses, you'd probably get a better explanation from somebody who has seen this latest CG in action xD.
I was CG'ed during the last bout, even though I was on holiday for 16 days and hadn't been on neo xD and it stinks! I probabley won't visit shops /ULs at all until it's over! And I don't understand how they get past the filters either xD
Man its keyloggers all over agian going from WoW to neopets = no difference in terms of account security
