EDIT: So, I'm just suggesting a little more differences between the levels.

Simpler? More benefits or requirements (either one?) that separate the levels.

Care to write this is a way that makes sense to anyone? xD

Levels are fine to me, their is a slight difference, some discussions (Inflator groups/Ab lists) are level 1/level 3 groups only. Some users lend avatars for free for level X+, Level 5's have their own avatar lending. etc.

well the idea when we added more levels was so that people had more stepping stones to aim for (instead of getting two super fast and then waiting forever for three)
i think they're working pretty well right now

People that donate SHOULD NOT automatically be promoted to any rank. They get Forum Cash for donating.. Or if they buy AU they get AU.

Why should people with more money be allowed to be given a higher rank?.. That poses more issues with people than scam, that have a decent paypal account, come here, donate some, promotion to higher level. Become trusted more?

I think this has been discussed before...

    I'm against it.

However, a new rank system in general sounds like a good fresh idea ^_^

Maybe addrep requirements to each level, I suck at getting rep...

If you add rep requirements it means users have to put back into the forum instead of takiNG

PS I would buy my way up to level V :p

    I agree with Junior.

Also, yes, a new Rank system would be a nice fresh idea. [Echo, echo]

I'm 12, I haven't got money to spend on the forum, as much as I would like to. :( :3

What about adding programS specifically for ranked members, I've sure V members already have them..

Maybe a SSW search for level 4's or something, this way it's not just levels 1, 3 and 5 that get incentives

As it is now, The Level 1 Board has Black Market, and the board itself offers a few extra things.. nothing major.

Level 3 = new board which contains some level III only downloads, discussions, offers...

Level V well.. Basically the same as above :p

So they ALREADY have a certain level of added extras.. But I guess making these more noticeable and more "wanted" wouldn't be such a bad idea?

I think we should make the
incentives more noticable but then it's going to create more spammers like me :)

    mm yeah
don't think that's every going to happen
donors had access to BM for a while but not sure if that's still the case (i don't think so?)

last time we redid the ranking system we thought of using both posts and rep (like...150 posts or 30 rep)
but i'm not sure how hard that would be to implement

that would be left to the programmer's discretion if they want to release a program privately

I don't think it would be that hard because I've seen phpBB forums (I think its one of those) that require both posts and rep.

    most neo sites are vBulletin
and we're looking for either post or rep...not both
but idk...i've never really done too much searching for MODs

If it's either post or rep to rank up, post count is more fitting...

If a new member is a programer ands post a program, he/she will recieve plenty of rep and rank up quickly compaired to an active member who isn't as knowledgeable

mmm i think the only reason it was post or rep was that not everyone is going to have something interesting to contribute
but in the end, we ditched the idea last time
