ok. ear piercings i understand but.... why pierce the other parts of your body?
Personally i feel that it is rather daring and weird.

So tell my why do people pierce their bodies?

i have 6 tattoos which i regret now, lol, thought they were awsome earlier in life but now as I have children I find them embarrassing really. If your gonna get tatoos think hard about it and if you think you may not wqant them later get henna tatoos they come off after so long.

I have my navel pierced, and a tattoo on my foot.

I regret neither, and enjoy them both! Planning on getting another tattoo here sometime soon, actually.

Good luck! What are you going to tattoo?

Anyway, ear piecings are not less daring than other body piercings... only more common.

The only piercings I have are in my ears at the moment. I used to have my belly button pierced, but I took it out long ago when I started working at my job.

isn't it the safest to get a ear piercing compared to other piercings? that makes it all the more less daring am i right?

Well nope, it's only a commonplace. This cliché is originated from the fact that ear's lobes don't contain cartilage, have very few nerve endings and is formed by spun tissue, so it's more easy to perforate and need less care.
But it isn't true... the fact is that for ear piercings are used small pistols like those to perforate cows' ears, that damage lobes' tissue and create internal microlacerations on it (that are the ideal place for bacteriums buildups). Then often these pistols aren't well disinfected because is wrong thought that ear lobes don't need so much care. And then, for ear lobes are often used earrings with a bad lock, that doesn't let the tissue to breathe.
Instead other piercings are made using sterilized needles and a lot of regard, in fact to do them you have to go in specialized places. Needles perforated the tissue better, without internal lacerations and so less risk of infection. Then are used appropriate piercings, longer, that permit the ventilation of the wound.
The fact is that you see a lot of people with ear lobes infections... but very few people with other piercings infections^^' It's caused just by the wrong commonplace that you don't have to care so much of your lobes' earrings.
I'm sorry for the bad English, but I'm really not so able to speak it using technical words ._.

@lbadmus: even if I'm not Hindu, I think it's a beautiful symbol, it has a very depth meaning.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not Hindu either, but I really like the symbol. I meditate, so it'll suit me well. :)

I wonder sometimes, isn't a better question: "Piercings, who DOESN'T have them?"
