hehe. Just leave it on when you go to bed. Wake up check it. Go school/work. Come home and done :D saves you $$/££ :D (You can also PAUSE downloads on torrents) So you can do 1hour a night for 16 days if you wish :p

    Re: hey

    test123 it works like this.

This is from Wikipedia (i can't write it any better):

"BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file distribution protocol, and a free software implementation of that protocol. The protocol was originally designed and created by programmer Bram Cohen, and is now maintained by BitTorrent, Inc. BitTorrent is designed to distribute large amounts of data widely without incurring the corresponding consumption in costly server and bandwidth resources."

A torrent is this: "To share a file or group of files, a peer first creates a "torrent." This is a small file which contains metadata about the files to be shared, and about the tracker, the computer that coordinates the file distribution. Peers that want to download the file first obtain a torrent file for it, and connect to the specified tracker which tells them from which other peers to download the pieces of the file."

In short... it a way of sharing any data... ie programs, mp3's, movies, etc.

    You need two things.

    1.) BitTorrent Client
    2.) Torrents

Read my earlier post for places to get both:

    http://www.neofriends.net/phpBB2/viewto ... 7826#57826

Those links are places where you get torrents for the files you want... ie searching for a program name or movie.

    Check it out

    Hope this helps!

Yay for torrents, if you can get it to work right.
Anyways, use utorrent, I find that the best to use.

    Good

Yes, I'd say its good in the respect that you can pretty much find anything and everything via Torrents. P2P ..Is going out of fashion/well not as prominent as what it used to be.

Alot of people are changing over to Torrents also because some telecommunication providers (especially here in New Zealand) are blocking/ capping the download/upload speeds when those programs are used.

Overall, a great source of information.

I used bittorent for long time... expecially for downloading anime eps ;)
But now I find it inconvenient... I prefer p2p 'cause there are more things avaible :\

    ..

What Torrenting program were you using?

What Torrent websites were you using also? Some are better than others especially when it comes to the amount of seeds available. If you had access to only a couple of sites that may explain a few things.

Everyone has their own preference - I'll probably end up going back to P2P one day when it gets back on its feet like it used to be.
