You can use adblock to remove advertisements, but as soon as you start blocking images of junk items, you can get iced. But its very hard for tnt to track adblock when used incorrectly I believe.
In my opinion blocking advertisements is cheating... as it's like opening sponsor links with the one-click method, without seeing ads! In fact Premium-users don't see the ads... but they pay for this, so Neopets earn money from them instead of the ads. You could say that Neopets earn money even if you block ads... but this is against the rules, they said this in an editorial for the sponsor links.
that's not my point. when you create many accounts to do sponsor (i don't care whether it's clicking one button or clicking it manually), neopets still gets the sponsorship money from their sponsors, but they still freeze.
I think TNT considers it cheating. IMHO, NO. They're filling your page with useless crap to support their website, its your choice clientside what you do.
Nope, I'm using Kaspersky 0.6, and it literally blocks all ads, I had trouble finding ads for a commerce project.
I havte the ones where you scroll over on accident and it sings or busses or covers your whole screen. so out of line
It's about enforcing the no cheating rule.. not about how much they make off of one person when they have 50 thousand other people clicking on the sponsors.
i dint think so.. those ads are so annoying. its not like anyone clicks on them anyway, i would rather not have to look at them at all...
Its not "cheating" really. Since it is YOUR pc and YOUR browser. You do have control over the content. It does of course lower thier revenue (especially if millions of users were to do it). But then as with any ad based business model you run that risk i suppose.
...i have a screenshot from the battledome and it shows the adblocker on the toolbar...should i remove the screenshot?
It's not cheating........it's just blocking those annoying ads that messes up with your browser and slowing down your computer. And besides it doesn't like they can break into your house and remove the adblocker themselves
TNT stated in a past editiorial that it does count as cheating, since you are using a program. TNT sucks. [...]
